What if your body isn’t failing you…it’s prioritizing?
One of the biggest mindset shifts I help women make is understanding that the body is always making decisions about where to spend its limited resources.
When life feels safe and supported, your body has more capacity for things like:
• Building muscle
• Healthy metabolism
• Reproductive health
• Libido
• Recovery
• Creativity
But when it perceives ongoing stress—whether that’s poor sleep, under-fueling, chronic inflammation, emotional strain, illness, or even the hormonal shifts of midlife—it starts reallocating those resources.
It isn’t trying to sabotage you.
It’s trying to protect you.
That’s why simply “trying harder” often doesn’t work.
Your body doesn’t need more punishment.
It needs the conditions that allow it to feel safe enough to invest in thriving instead of just surviving.
This is why I spend so much time teaching physiology. When you understand why your body is responding the way it is, you can stop fighting it and start working with it.
Because health isn’t about forcing your body to cooperate.
It’s about understanding the blueprint it has been following all along.
Have you ever felt like your body was working against you, even though you were doing “all the right things?” I’d love to hear your experience below.
