We're Hiring: Front Desk Assistant Manager 🦅

Eagles Nest Massage Therapy has been a fixture on Duluth's east hillside since 2010 — and we're growing! We're looking for a warm, organized, detail-oriented Assistant Manager to help our front desk team.

You'll be the first face our clients see and the calm, steady presence that keeps our day running smoothly — scheduling, client care, team support, and a little bit of everything in between.

We're looking for someone who:
✔️ Loves people and puts them at ease
✔️ Stays organized even when things get busy
✔️ Has some leadership or supervisory experience (bonus if it's in wellness, hospitality, or healthcare!)
✔️ Wants to be part of a mission-driven, community-rooted business

If this sounds like you — or someone you know — we'd love to hear from you. Send your resume and a note about why you'd be a great fit to [email protected]. 😊

"How often should I be getting a massage?" 🤔🌿

It’s one of the most common questions we get here at Eagles Nest! The short answer is: it depends entirely on what your body is trying to tell you. Massage is a powerful form of preventative healthcare, but the frequency looks different for everyone.
Here is a quick way to help you find your ideal wellness rhythm:
1. For Chronic Pain, Injury Recovery, or High Stress 🩹
The Routine: Every 1 to 2 weeks.
The Goal: When you are dealing with a specific issue (like lower back pain, repetitive strain from a desk job, or intense stress), your muscles have "memory" and want to revert to their tight, guarded state. Frequent sessions break that cycle and train the muscles to stay relaxed.
2. For Maintenance and Posture Support 🧘
The Routine: Every 3 to 4 weeks.
The Goal: This is the "sweet spot" for most people. It helps manage everyday stress, prevents old injuries from flaring up, and counteracts the physical toll of daily life before major tension builds back up.
3. For General Wellness and Relaxation 💆
The Routine: Once a month.
The Goal: A fantastic way to tune in to your body, boost your immune system, and give yourself a dedicated moment to unplug and breathe.
Think of bodywork like working out or eating well—consistency is where the magic happens! When you make it a habit, your body stops living in survival mode and starts thriving.
✨ Eagle Eye Tip: Don't forget that every session at Eagles Nest includes our signature buffer time before and after session, meaning your hands-on time is never cut short by the clock.
Where does your body fall on this list right now? Call our office to set up your next maintenance session. 🦅✨

Massage for better sleep?
🌙 Struggling to Sleep? The Secret Might Be on the Massage Table 😴

If you’ve been tossing and turning, counting sheep, or waking up feeling just as tired as when your head hit the pillow, you are definitely not alone.
While many people think of a massage as a treat for sore muscles, it is actually one of the most powerful, natural tools you can use to reset your sleep cycle. 🧠✨
Here is the science behind why a great massage helps you catch those elusive, high-quality Zzzs:
📉 Crushes Cortisol (The Stress Hormone): When you are stressed, your body floods with cortisol, keeping you alert, anxious, and wide awake. Massage actively lowers cortisol levels, signaling to your brain that it is finally safe to let down its guard.
📈 Boosts Your "Feel-Good" Hormones: Massage triggers a release of serotonin and dopamine. Your brain needs serotonin to produce melatonin—the natural hormone that regulates your internal clock and tells your body exactly when it's time to sleep.
🔄 Shifts You Into "Rest and Digest" Mode: Your nervous system has a built-in brake pedal called the parasympathetic state. Regular bodywork gently presses that pedal, shifting you out of a frantic "fight-or-flight" survival mode and into a state of deep, restorative relaxation.
Instead of fighting insomnia from your bed, let's address the tension keeping you awake. A massage doesn't just help you drift off faster; it helps you stay in that deep, healing REM sleep longer so you can wake up truly refreshed. 🌿
