Yes! So important to understand that kids are allowed to feel their feelings and we are here to make them feel safe and loved when big feelings arise.
Emotional resilience doesn’t mean a child never struggles. It means they feel safe enough to feel. 🤍
Resilient children still experience big emotions, hard days, fear, and frustration. The goal isn’t to raise children who never feel overwhelmed. It’s to help them develop the security to move through those feelings without believing they have to hide them.
As explored in “Sensitive or Insecure?” by Naomi Aldort in Pathways to Family Wellness magazine, there’s a difference between helping a child feel secure and expecting them to simply toughen up.
Because resilience isn’t about feeling less. It’s about having the security to feel, process, and grow.
