Not because I disappeared all at once.

I lost myself slowly—in the carrying, the fixing, the overthinking and the constant responsibility of holding everything together.

𝗜 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗛𝗢 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗠𝗘 🚨

Maybe you recognize yourself here, too.

You’re the one everyone turns to. You anticipate what others need, keep everything moving and say, “I’m fine,” even when your body is asking you to stop.

You’ve carried the emotions, expectations and responsibilities of the people around you for so long that you can’t remember the last time you made a choice based solely on what you needed.

You don’t need another list of things to do. You don’t need to force yourself forward or become a “better” version of who you are.

You may simply need a safe space to set it all down—and hear yourself again beneath the noise.

That is what LAY IT DOWN™ was created for.

A space to release the expectations, responsibilities, emotions and roles that have made it difficult to hear your own truth—so you can leave feeling lighter, clearer and more like yourself.

You have carried it long enough.

𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡.

Maybe you need somewhere you don’t have to be the strong one.

You’re the one people count on.

The caregiver. The fixer. The peacekeeper. The problem-solver.

You notice what everyone needs.
You anticipate the problem.
You carry the emotional weight.
You step in.
You figure it out.

And somewhere along the way, carrying everything became so normal that you stopped asking:

𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲?

That question changed something in me during my recent retreat.

Standing in a labyrinth, I realized there is a profound difference between 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦.

And I knew I wanted to create an experience where someone else could discover that for themselves.

Introducing…

𝐋𝐀𝐘 𝐈𝐓 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍™

A private, intuitive, holistic 90-minute mind • body • energy experience for the person who has been carrying too much for too long.

This isn’t another appointment where you have to explain everything, figure yourself out or leave with another list of things to work on.

For 90 minutes, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝.

Together, we’ll explore:

𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 — what isn’t yours
𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐈𝐕𝐄 — what your heart wants
𝐑𝐄𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍 — to who you really are
𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐕𝐄 — lighter, clearer + with a crystal to carry forward

Your experience is personalized to what presents itself and may weave together energy healing, Reiki, ThetaHealing®, somatic awareness, intuitive guidance and wellbeing coaching.

You don’t have to know what needs released before you arrive.

Sometimes your body knows before your mind has words for it.

And no, one session isn’t going to magically erase everything you’ve carried.

But sometimes one experience is enough to make you realize:

𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬.

Come carrying what you’ve been holding.

Part 5 | There was 1 more piece to my 3 days on sacred ground.

I received my Holy Fire III Karuna Reiki® Master certification.

Did I need another Reiki Master certification? Absolutely not. I already have four 😂

But eight years after my last, I felt called to deepen my ability to receive, listen and hold space for others.

What I didn’t expect was for it to bring the entire retreat full circle.

The silence. The labyrinth. The nourishment. The cross.

All of it had been asking me to release something so I could more fully receive.

And I realized:

I don’t need to become someone else to facilitate profound healing. I need to fully BE who I already am.

During practice, it became almost comical.

“Who was at my head?”
“My feet?”
“Beside me?”

Me😉✨ “I KNEW IT.”

They recognized the gentleness, love and shifting through my presence and touch.

And what unfolded humbled me.

I was drawn to the jaw and neck of an oncology nurse carrying everything her role required her to hold in.

The liver/gallbladder area of a retired teacher holding resentment that her career hadn’t created the impact she’d envisioned.

The head and knee of an OT carrying the belief rest is unproductive.

The womb of a woman where I sensed a baby—later learning she’d experienced a pregnancy loss she’d never spoken about.

And the feet of a grieving parent, where I saw darkness lifting—later learning they had recently lost a son to su***de.

Different stories. The same invitation:

Compassion. Forgiveness. Release.

Not forgiveness that says what happened was okay.

Forgiveness that says:

I no longer need to keep hurting myself to prove that something hurt me.

Read that again👆

Maybe wholeness isn’t about fixing yourself.

Maybe it’s opening your heart to the parts shaped by grief, disappointment, guilt and survival—and meeting them with compassion instead of judgment.

These three days taught me to:

Put down what isn’t mine.
Nourish what is.
Surrender what I can’t control.
Forgive.
Trust God.
Trust myself.

Because empowerment isn’t becoming someone new.

It’s having the courage to fully inhabit who you already are—whole, authentic, open…and free enough to let love move through you 💖

Part 4 | It was a humid, dewy, foggy Sunday morning.

The rest of my retreat partners were still asleep, so I decided to spend the quiet morning deepening my spiritual practice by walking the Way of the Cross.

I had walked this same path the day before.

But this time, I brought the prayer booklet.

At the first station, I opened it and looked at the image of Jesus being condemned to death.

And completely unexpectedly…

I began to sob.

Not a few tears. Uncontrollable, from-somewhere-deep-within-me sobbing.

I’ve prayed the Stations of the Cross many times before. I knew the story. I knew what each station represented.

But this wasn’t thinking about the story.

It felt like I was experiencing something within it.

The suffering. The condemnation. The weight of the cross. And even the pain of those witnessing someone they loved endure it.

The first seven stations were incredibly difficult. I could physically feel the heaviness within my body.

But I kept walking.

Station by station, something shifted.

The heaviness softened. My breathing changed.

And by the 14th station, what began as overwhelming grief had become an indescribable peace.

Peace be with you.

And it stayed.

I had to sit down afterward and process what had just happened.

Maybe that is part of the deeper invitation of the cross.

Not to glorify suffering, but to remember that our suffering can hold meaning—and that we don’t have to carry our crosses alone.

Because the cross isn’t where the story ends.

There is surrender.
Grace.
Renewal.
Resurrection.

That morning, I didn’t simply walk the Way of the Cross.

I experienced it.

What began with tears ended with peace.

I can only describe what followed as an ignition from the Holy Spirit—a deeply personal experience of grace and renewal I wasn’t searching for, forcing or expecting.

I simply made myself available to receive it.

And maybe that’s what I keep coming back to:

What becomes possible when we stop asking God to show up the way we expect…and become quiet enough to experience Him the way He chooses?

One more part remains.

And I had no idea everything before it was preparing me for what came next.

PART 3 | Before I get to the last two—and honestly, most life-changing—parts of this journey, I want to share something we all know…but many of us have forgotten.

Food is more than fuel. It carries information. Energy. Intention. Life.

For three days, my body was nourished with whole, sustainable foods—many grown right there on the property.

From the earth.
To the kitchen.
To my plate.

Three meals a day were prepared by the lovely Chef Corinna, who always had a smile on her face and seemed to pour as much love into the food as she did ingredients.

And let me tell you…

I NEVER eat three meals a day.

But apparently retreat Heather does 😂

I was moving through so much physical, emotional and spiritual energy that I became a literal bottomless pit. Put a plate in front of me and it disappeared pretty darn fast.

But what struck me wasn’t how much I was eating.

It was how my body responded to what I was eating.

Fresh. Whole. Colorful. Minimally processed. Grown from the same earth I was walking on each day.

And it made me wonder:

We pay attention to the energy of people, places and environments…but what about the energy of what we put into our bodies?

A vegetable growing in living soil—receiving sunlight, rain and tending—carries a very different story than something manufactured to sit on a shelf for months.

Maybe “high-frequency food” doesn’t need to be complicated or overly spiritual.

Maybe it simply means choosing food with more life left in it.

Because nourishment isn’t only calories, macros or whether something is labeled “healthy.”

It’s also connection—to the earth, the hands that grew and prepared it, the intention behind it and the body receiving it.

For three days, I wasn’t simply asking my body to keep up with everything I was experiencing.

I was giving it something to work with.

So perhaps the question isn’t only, What am I eating?

It’s:

Am I simply feeding my body…or am I actually nourishing it?

Because what we consume becomes part of what we’re asking our body to create from.

And that includes far more than food.

Stay with me.

The final two parts of this journey changed something within me.

It’s no secret that I’ve been on a deeply personal healing journey since 2016—when my body made it impossible to keep ignoring what my soul already knew.

Ten years, countless life experiences and several certifications later, I found myself being called somewhere deeper.

Not to learn more.

To listen more.

So I invested three days in myself.

No phone. No TV. No constant stream of information. Out in the middle of nowhere, on sacred ground.

Just me, God, nature…and enough stillness for what had been waiting underneath the noise to finally have a voice.

And it made me wonder:

How much of what we call “life” is actually keeping us from experiencing ourselves?

Could you…

• Stop filling every open space with something to do and sit in stillness instead?
• Put down the alcohol, substances, scrolling, shopping, food—or whatever helps you numb, suppress or avoid what you feel?
• Nourish yourself intentionally instead of always choosing what’s convenient?
• Stop being everyone else’s answer long enough to hear your own?
• Rest without first earning it?
• Stop searching outside yourself for validation of what you already know?
• Be alone long enough to meet yourself beneath your roles and responsibilities?

Maybe tending to yourself isn’t always about adding another healing practice.

Sometimes it’s about removing what keeps you from yourself.

These three days reminded me that my relationship with myself and God is uniquely mine. It doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s—and neither does yours.

What if you stopped questioning whether you’re receiving the guidance “right” and started trusting what keeps showing up?

What if you gave yourself permission to go beyond what you’ve learned and into what you know?

I had experiences during those three days that I’m still finding words for.

Over my next several posts, I’ll invite you into pieces of that journey—not because your path should look like mine, but because maybe something within my experience will spark something within you.

A question. A knowing. A permission. A remembering.

Because you are worthy of discovering what becomes audible when the noise finally goes quiet.

It almost sounds backwards 🤔

Shouldn’t the journey provide more support? More certainty? Better timing? Shouldn’t someone step in to make the path easier or show us exactly what to do before we take the first step?

We’ve been conditioned to believe we need the right circumstances, enough confidence, or someone to save us before we begin. But that’s rarely how meaningful journeys work.

Every meaningful journey—whether it’s healing, caregiving, building a business, returning to school, chasing a dream, or simply finding yourself again—will ask more of you than you thought you had to give.

It will ask for patience when you’re running out.
It will ask for courage when fear feels louder than faith.
It will ask for resilience on the days you want to quit.
And it will ask you to trust the process before you can see the destination.

The truth is, the journey doesn’t demand what you already possess. It develops what you don’t.

Growth rarely feels comfortable. It stretches you, challenges you, and sometimes leaves you wondering if you’re equipped for what’s ahead. But every obstacle is also an invitation—to learn, adapt, and discover strengths you didn’t know existed.

So if life feels like it’s asking more of you than you think you have to give, don’t assume you’re falling behind.

Don’t mistake the weight of the journey for a lack of ability. Sometimes the path is simply introducing you to strengths you’ve never had a reason to use.

✨ The journey isn’t asking you to be ready. It’s giving you the opportunity to discover what you’re truly capable of.

I’m still here 😉

If you’ve noticed I’ve been a little quiet, it’s because this season has taught me one of the most overlooked lessons in holistic health.

We spend so much time talking about nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and supplements. But there’s one piece of wellness we rarely talk about: the invisible weight of being the person everyone depends on.

April, May, and June were a whirlwind. My husband unexpectedly had a heart attack and required two stents despite being considered healthy. We welcomed my mother-in-law into our home as her temporary caregivers, and my dad suffered a substantial fall that resulted in multiple injuries and a hospital stay.

After more than 25 years in healthcare, I thought I understood caregiving. I knew the clinical side. I’ve educated caregivers. I knew how to care for people.

What I didn’t understand until now was the cost of being a caregiver.

It’s not something you clock in and out of. It’s the constant mental checklist, the interrupted sleep, the emotional weight, the decisions no one else sees, and the quiet way your own needs slowly move to the bottom of the list.

Sometimes the biggest threat to your health isn’t what you’re eating. It’s the invisible load you’re carrying.

This experience has reinforced something I believe even more deeply: holistic well-being isn’t just about caring for the body. It’s about protecting the mind, emotions, relationships, and the people doing the caring.

Caregivers need support. They need rest. They need healing too.

I’m still here—just with a perspective I didn’t have three months ago. And I have a feeling it’s going to shape not only how I live, but also what I share with all of you moving forward 💖

The last few weeks have been quiet over here… and now you know why.

Jason went from a normal Tuesday night at fire meeting… to chest pain, an ambulance ride, and days of uncertainty in the hospital.

What we thought might be something… turned into two major blockages—99% and 90%—and two stents placed 🫀

He’s okay. And that’s everything❤️

But moments like this… they shift you.

They show you what actually matters.
They strip away the noise.
They ask you to come back to yourself in a deeper way.

So if I’ve been quiet… it’s because I chose to be.

I’ve been prioritizing myself.
Giving myself grace.
Letting my body come down from days of adrenaline, uncertainty, and very little sleep.

And I’ve also been doing something deeper—
Pulling myself out of the energy where I unknowingly tied greatness to struggle…
where expansion had to come with sorrow, setback, or crisis.

That story ends here.

I’m choosing something different.

Creating above and beyond—without the chaos, without the interference, without the “f**kery.”

Success without crisis.
Expansion without breakdown.
Growth without losing myself in the process.

And most importantly…
I’m choosing faith.

Faith in my body.
Faith in his healing.
Faith in what gets to unfold next—without it having to hurt first.

If you’ve been moving through something heavy lately…
this is your reminder:

You don’t have to earn your next level through suffering.

You get to choose a new way✨

And if you need help…I’m here for you 🤍
