There are so many things we hear about pregnancy and postpartum recovery that we just accept as “normal.”
But your body is capable of healing, adapting, and getting stronger with the right support. 💛
A few things I wish every pregnant and postpartum person knew:
✨ Your pelvic floor needs more than just strengthening.
- Your pelvic floor needs to be able to contract, relax, and coordinate with the rest of your body. More squeezing isn’t always the answer.
✨ Pain is not something you have to accept.
- Pain with intimacy, exercise, movement, or daily activities is common — but that doesn’t mean you have to live with it.
✨ Your pelvic floor deserves support before AND after birth.
- Preparing your body for birth can be incredibly helpful, but postpartum recovery is just as important. Whether you’re newly postpartum or years out, support is still available.
✨ Recovery doesn’t end at 6 weeks.
- Your body goes through huge changes during pregnancy and birth. Healing, rebuilding strength, and reconnecting with your body takes time.
You don’t have to figure it out alone. Pelvic floor physical therapy can help you better understand your body, address your concerns, and feel confident moving forward.
Your body has done something incredible. It’s worth supporting. 💛

"It's not that bad..."
I hear this all the time.
"I only leak a little."
"My back only hurts after a long day."
"I just have a little pressure."
"It's more annoying than painful."
Here's the thing...
Mild symptoms are often your body's first way of saying something is starting to get off track.
Think of it like the check engine light in your car. You don't wait for the engine to fail before getting it looked at. You address the small warning signs before they become bigger (and often more expensive) problems.
- The same is true for your body. -
Physical therapy isn't only for severe pain or major injuries. Sometimes it's simply a tune-up—a chance to improve how your muscles, joints, and nervous system are working together before those mild symptoms turn into chronic pain, worsening leakage, or limitations in your daily life.
The earlier we address the issue, the easier it often is to get you feeling your best again.
✨ Don't wait until it's "bad enough."
Your body has been communicating with you all along.

"Just breathe."
It's advice we hear all the time.
But what if I told you that how you breathe can influence so much more than stress?
Your breathing works together with your core, diaphragm, pelvic floor, and abdominal muscles every single second of the day.
When that system isn't working well together, it can contribute to things like:
- Constipation
- Urinary Leakage
- Pelvic pain
- Pain with intimacy
- Low back pain
- Pelvic organ prolapse symtoms
- Core weakness
- Neck & shoulder tension
- Difficulty relaxing your muscles
The good news?
Breathing is something we can improve.
In physical therapy, breathing isn't just about taking a deep breath. It's about helping your body move the way it was designed so your muscles can support you, relax when they should, and generate pressure effectively.
It starts with your breath.

Any amount of urinary leakage is worth talking about.
Leaking urine isn't something you should have to plan around or accept as "normal" because you've had children, are getting older, or only notice it occasionally.
Whether it happens once a month or every day, your body is telling you something—and it deserves attention.
The good news? Urinary incontinence is often treatable, and pelvic floor physical therapy can help identify the why behind your symptoms and create a plan that's right for you.
You deserve to laugh, sneeze, exercise, and live your life without worrying about leakage. 💜
