Belated, but too sweet not to share! 🍫

We may be a couple of days late, but we couldn't let National Milk Chocolate Day (July 28) pass without celebrating!
At the House of Mercy and Encouragement, we encourage you to enjoy the benefits of chocolate. Studies suggest that chocolate can help boost your mood by stimulating the release of endorphins and serotonin—the brain's "feel-good" chemicals.
As with most good things, moderation is key. Enjoy a piece of chocolate, share some with someone you care about, and spread a little sweetness. 🍫❤️

Twenty-one years ago today, the seeds of the House of Mercy and Encouragement (HOME) were planted through profound loss, unwavering faith, and a commitment to helping others. On June 24, 2005, a tragic car accident claimed the lives of Timothy Mortimer, son of Dolores Mortimer, and her Godson, Michael Celidonio.

In the midst of unimaginable grief, Dolores—a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than 25 years of experience—and her husband, Allen ,felt called to transform tragedy into hope, creating a legacy of healing and support for children and families.

Today, we continue to honor Dolores's vision and keep her mission alive by providing compassionate counseling, support, and hope to the children and families we serve every day.

A heartfelt thank you to Holiday Inn Express & Suites Clearwater North/Dunedin by IHG/Grant Alliance for their generous donation in memory of Gabriella Mullins.

Gabriella was an integral part of our Board of Directors, and she is deeply missed.
We are honored to carry on her legacy through the Gabriella Mullins Fund, which provides scholarships to help children and families access the counseling services they need.

Thank you for helping us keep Gabriella's memory alive while making a meaningful difference in our community. ❤️
