Reflecting on 35 Years of Dreams ⚽️🌍

It feels like just yesterday when I was sitting in my living room, bursting with excitement for the World Cup. Back then, my dream felt so distant.

This past month, I had the incredible opportunity to cover eight World Cup games in Atlanta, Georgia. A heartfelt thank you to:

• Scott Gillogly: A fantastic colleague who made this journey extraordinary.

• Rehal Bhojani: An unconditional friend.

• The Emory Emergency Medicine Department, led by Alex Isakov: Your team approach was invaluable.

• AAPMR: Your support has been instrumental in this experience.

To every boy and girl out there who could have been in my shoes 35 years ago, dreaming big, let me be an example of what’s possible.

Thank you, FIFA, for letting me be part of your medical team. Here’s to chasing dreams and making them a reality! 🙌⚽️

With the World Cup peaking, it’s the perfect time to celebrate a decade of the Emory Soccer Medicine Program! 🎉 Ten years ago, we set out to build a program to serve Atlanta and beyond.

As Director, I'm incredibly proud of our team of physicians, PTs, and ATs. Through our partnership with US Soccer, we’ve supported organizations like Atlanta United, conducted groundbreaking sports medicine research, and hosted major educational seminars.

We’ve accomplished so much in 10 years, and I can't wait for what’s next! ⚽️💪

Emory’s Soccer Medicine Program has grown into the largest of its kind in Georgia, with more soccer-trained providers across more locations than any other health system in the state.

I saw another patient for the treatment of GTPS and it reminded me of this article I contributed to a few months ago. I’m glad to have contributed to this discussion in Pain Medicine News. As research on minimally invasive treatments for greater trochanteric pain syndrome continues to evolve, thoughtful patient selection and evidence-based decision-making remain key.

Huge thank you to Fox News and Elyse Eady for the opportunity to speak on the World Cup. We tackled some challenges posed by the hot weather, emphasizing recovery, nutrition, and hydration techniques.

We also dove into various injury patterns in soccer. The tournament has been incredible so far, and I can’t wait to see more exciting matches ahead!
