Read this again:

The nervous system cannot fully recover, while it still feels responsible for staying alert.

So many of us think we need more rest.

Sometimes we actually need is more support, more predictability, more connection, and more safety.

Have you ever taken a break and still felt exhausted afterward?

We explore why in episode 52 of nature to nurture.

Save this for later. đź’›

For a long time, I thought I needed more discipline.
A better system.
A better planner.
More willpower or some ADHD meds.

What I actually needed was to start listening.

This episode is personal and so good.
Not because I've figured it all out.
Because I'm still learning.

What if exhaustion isn’t weakness?

What if it’s information?

For a long time, I thought I needed better time management, more discipline, or a better system.

What I actually needed was to understand what my body had been trying to tell me.

This may be one of the most important episodes I’ve recorded.

A new episode is live today.

And it feels connected to everything I experienced this weekend.

Because so much of what we talked about…
and what I witnessed…
comes back to something we don’t always name:

The invisible work of caring.

The mental load.
The emotional presence.
The constant holding—of children, of families, of everything that needs to keep moving.

In this episode, I talk about what it actually means to value that work…
not just in words, but in how we support ourselves and each other.

Not by adding more.
But by noticing what’s already there.

Because care has always been powerful.
It just hasn’t always been recognized that way.

Morning routine for moms isn’t about doing more…
it’s about how you feel when the day starts.

I used to wake up behind—
rushing, overwhelmed, trying to get everything done while getting the kids out the door.

Now I prep the night before, take a 30-minute walk,
and everything feels different.

Less chaos.
Less snapping.
More calm, connected mornings.

Turns out… regulating myself changed the emotional climate of our home.

If your mornings feel rushed or overstimulating, this might be the shift you need.

What do your mornings feel like right now?

I’ve been thinking about so many of you lately 💛

Especially those of you who are pregnant or in that early stage with little ones…

We don’t talk about this enough, but childcare ends up shaping so much of your daily life—your work, your stress, your routines, your support.

This isn’t just a film—it’s a chance to step into a conversation that’s already happening here in La Plata County about how we better support families and caregivers.

I’ll be there, and I’d really love to see some familiar faces in the room.

If this is your season… I hope you come 💛

You can build a business.
You can raise your kids.

But you were never meant to do it alone.

This has been sitting with me all week.

Support isn’t a luxury — it’s what makes this sustainable.

If this is something you’ve been feeling too, I talked more about it in this week’s episode.

Caring for children asks a lot from our nervous systems.

The constant responding, decision-making, and emotional presence can add up quickly — especially when we’re also carrying work, homes, and everything else life brings.

But supporting your nervous system doesn’t have to mean big changes.

Sometimes it looks like:

• stepping outside for a few minutes
• slowing your breath
• changing the environment when things start escalating

Small shifts can help your body come back to a place where you can respond instead of react.

If you missed this week’s episode of the Nature to Nurture Podcast, I shared simple ways parents and caregivers can support their nervous systems throughout the day.

The moment wasn’t actually the problem.

It was everything that came before it.

The lack of sleep.
The constant noise.
The mental load of remembering everything for everyone.

And then one small moment happens…
and suddenly your nervous system feels like it can’t handle one more thing.

If you’ve ever had that experience while caring for children, you’re not alone.

In this week’s episode of the Nature to Nurture Podcast, I talk about what’s actually happening in our nervous systems during those moments — and simple ways to support ourselves throughout the day.

Because caring for your nervous system isn’t selfish.
It’s part of caring for the children in your life.
