Have you been curious about arm balances, inversions, or more advanced yoga postures but aren’t sure where to start?

Join Patty for an affordable workshop-style class designed to give you the time and space to play, experiment, and explore your practice in a supportive environment. 🫶🏼

Through creative sequencing, strength-building movement, breathwork, and plenty of guidance, you’ll have the chance to work toward poses that challenge and inspire you while discovering what feels possible in your body.

This workshop is perfect for students who want to:
✨ Explore arm balances and advanced postures
✨ Build confidence in their practice
✨ Learn progressions and modifications
✨ Play with movement in a fun, encouraging environment
✨ Step outside their comfort zone and grow

All levels are welcome. Whether you’re working on your first crow pose or refining an existing practice, options and modifications will be offered throughout.

Starting June 12th, Friday Hot Vinyasa will now be held from 4:30–5:30 PM with Leah- giving you just a little more time to get out of work and make it to class!

A perfect way to shake off the week, move your body, sweat a little, and head into the weekend feeling grounded and refreshed.

A friendly reminder about parking 🚗✨

Please only park directly in front of The Sweaty Buddha, as there is plenty of parking available for our students out front. We kindly ask that you refrain from parking in front of neighboring businesses in the complex, including Sky Ridge Market and the gas station for overflow parking.

Additional free parking is available on Colebank Drive, just around the corner from Jenkins Ranch Road.

✨Teacher Spotlight ✨Charissa

For all of our 6 AM hot yoga warriors, chances are you’ve already flowed with Charissa before. Her strong yet mindful teaching style is the perfect balance of energy and intention - sure to wake you up, ground you in your body, and start your day off on the right foot. 🔥

Whether you’re looking to build strength, clear your mind, or simply begin your morning with purpose, Charissa’s classes will leave you feeling refreshed, empowered, and ready for whatever the day brings.

Growing up in Pennsylvania Charissa spent most of her childhood playing on the farm where she grew up. She picked up running track and cross-country 🏃🏽‍♀️ in her school age years and found solace in the freedom that running gave her. 

After high school she spent five years working for Conservation Corps building hiking trails 🌲with teens all over the country. Charissa found the ashtanga practice through books and videos. She began a Practice with a mentor in New Hampshire where she lived and continued to deepen her daily practice.

The path of yoga was something that Charissa wanted to follow and she continued her studies through a 200 hr teacher training with Seacoast Power Yoga, a Baron Baptiste-inspired studio. Charissa has taught power yoga classes since 2014 and has since become a part of the Durango community. 🌟

Charissa classes are filled with a high energy and fast paced cardio flow that will challenge, build stamina and give you the movement you need to quiet your mind and body for a deep meditative shavasana. 

Charissa enjoys spending time in the backcountry ⛰️with her husband and kids and their dog Nelly. She is looking forward to continuing her section hiking of the Colorado Trail this summer.

☀️ Summer Fun with Purpose: Kids Yoga Camp ⛱️

We’re excited to share a wonderful opportunity from our friends at Anu Yoga School.

Kids Yoga Camp is a playful, enriching week designed for elementary-aged children who love to move, create, imagine, and explore. Each day includes Yoga, mythology and storytelling, art, outdoor time, games, mindfulness activities, and plenty of opportunities for connection and fun.

The intention of this camp is simple: give kids an unforgettable summer experience while sharing the lifelong benefits of Yoga in a way that feels natural, joyful, and engaging.

Led by Sarah Klein, founder of Anu Yoga School, and local 1st grade teacher Tiff Ketter, the camp combines extensive teaching experience with a warm, playful approach that helps children build confidence, creativity, focus, and self-awareness—all while having a great time.

At this point we may just have to retire the competition because Stephanie cannot be beat. 😂

For the 5th… maybe 6th month in a row, she’s back in the lead for most classes attended — this month with 25 classes. Her consistency, dedication, and commitment to showing up for herself is seriously inspiring.

Proof that little by little, practice adds up. We love having you in this community, Stephanie. Keep leading the way. 🤍

Meet Patty: ⬇️

Patty is a 230-hour trained Power Vinyasa, Hatha, and Yin yoga teacher originally trained in San Diego, CA. Over the past five years, she has taught internationally in Colombia, Hawaii, and Costa Rica before bringing her practice home to serve her local community.

In addition to yoga, Patty trained as a 1:1 stretch therapist and has spent years studying Advaita and Vipassana meditation in both India and the United States. Her teaching blends non-dual philosophy, nervous system regulation, and embodied movement to create an experience that is both grounding and transformative.

She is currently in graduate school for Functional Medicine Nutrition and runs her own practice, The Healing House, alongside her podcast of the same name. A local poet at heart, Patty weaves philosophy, science, and story into everything she offers.

Come ready to sweat, breathe, and move to the edge of your comfort zone 🔥
