Sometimes the thing we come in to work on isn't where the work takes us. 🤍
I had a client come to me as she was preparing to try for a baby.
She wanted to begin this chapter feeling clear, grounded and energetically supported.
And I remember meeting with her for the first time and having a very strong intuitive sense that *becoming pregnant wasn't actually where our work was going to be.*
She did become pregnant.
And she stayed.
We continued working together throughout her pregnancy, and over time something much deeper began to unfold.
The work became less about preparing for pregnancy and much more about preparing for motherhood.
Because wanting a baby and becoming a mother aren't necessarily the same emotional journey.
As we worked together, things began surfacing around what motherhood meant to her.
Her own experiences growing up.
The parts of her story she wanted to carry forward — and the parts she didn't.
The expectations she held about who she would need to become.
Even some resistance that surprised her, because she wanted this pregnancy.
None of that meant she didn't want her baby.
It meant there was more to this transition than simply becoming pregnant.
And that's one of the things I love about energy work.
We can come in thinking we know exactly what we're there to work on...
and sometimes, once we create enough quiet and space, something underneath it says,
Actually, can we look at this?
We were able to gently work with some of those old emotions, beliefs and patterns as they surfaced throughout her pregnancy — not because they needed to be cleared in order for her pregnancy to be healthy, but because she wanted to enter motherhood carrying less of what no longer belonged to her.
That's a very different kind of preparation.
Sometimes preparing for a baby is about the nursery, the appointments and everything your body is doing.
And sometimes it's about meeting the woman who is becoming a mother — and giving her space to decide what she wants to bring with her into that next chapter. 🤍
