The New Hampshire Office of Professional Licensure and Certification (OPLC) has proposed changes to Plc 1002.11 that would increase recurring licensing and permit fees for dental hygienists.

While NHDHA supports reasonable licensing fees that fund professional regulation, we believe these proposed recurring permit application processing fees place an unnecessary financial burden on dental hygienists without improving public protection or licensing services.

NHDHA recommends that permit application processing fees be charged only when a permit is initially issued or reinstated after a lapse in licensure—not every renewal for hygienists who remain continuously licensed and in good standing.

This approach would continue to support public protection while reducing unnecessary financial burdens on the dental hygiene workforce.
