As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) I provide comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, individual and group psychotherapy, viewing everyone within the context of their environment and focusing on their strengths. I have worked at all levels of care. I appreciate collaborating with other treatment providers to provide the best care possible. During a struggle, we can often lose sight of our strengths, and I work alongside clients to re-connect to their innate resilience/resources. I meet clients where they are and strive to create a therapeutic environment that is affirming, accepting, motivating while remaining inclusive. I enjoy working with individuals struggling with addiction, emotion regulation and negative self-image issues. I focus on creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe and supported, and from where change can be created in their own pace. I take a collaborative approach to therapy, as clients are the expert in their own lives, they may just need a little support to move through what is working as opposed to what’s not working now. To achieve this, I utilize various evidence based theoretical perspectives including CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), solution Focused Brief Therapy, Motivational interviewing and mindfulness-based techniques, tailoring this to clients’ needs.
