Lose Fat. Gain Energy. Feel Strong Again.
Cardio can move the scale for a while. Then it stops working, and you're doing more for less result. This is exactly why exercise after 40 quietly stops paying off: the workout didn't change, your body did.
Six signs cardio isn't actually the reason you'd lose fat:
1. You've added more cardio, but the fat loss stalled weeks ago. 2. The scale moved, but you look softer, not leaner. 3. You're hungrier after every session, and it's catching up with you. 4. Your clothes fit the same no matter how many miles you log. 5. You're more tired, not more toned. 6. You're smaller, but not stronger, and that's the problem.
Cardio burns calories while you're doing it. Strength training after 40 keeps burning after you leave the gym, because muscle is what actually changes your metabolism.
That's the whole reason I do what I do as a personal trainer in Durham, NC: strength training after 40, real food, 90 minutes a week.
Get Strong. Be Healthy. Live Long.
