This Audiology Awareness Month, we're highlighting a few inspiring audiologists in the field.

To kick off this series, we're introducing you to Dr. Hillerby at Jacksonville Hearing and Balance Institute/The Hearing Center. 👋

Dr. Hillerby loves helping patients regain not only access to their hearing, but also their social lives and self-confidence.

Tools such as MED-EL's OTOPLAN have allowed her to personalize her approach to care and better serve each patient's unique anatomy.

25 years of technology, all with one implant. 💪

Happy International Music Day!🎶

MED-EL recipients are reconnecting with their favorite melodies with our Anatomy-Based Fitting (ABF) capabilities.

What is ABF, you ask? 🧐

ABF allows audiologists to customize your sound program after surgery to help recipients hear all the richness of natural sound.

In a recent study, MED-EL users showed significantly better music perception than competitors. With 92% of ABF users reporting that they actively listen to music compared to 61% of default users.

Are you curious about the differences between MED-EL's ADHEAR and a hearing aid?

Compared to a hearing aid worn on the ear, ADHEAR is a bone conduction device that attaches behind the ear with a sticky adhesive.

: Say hi to Alexa! 👋

Born with hearing loss, Alexa received hearing aids at just 2 years old. Later in life, she woke up one day to discover she had lost the remainder of her residual hearing in her right ear.

Afterward, Alexa made the decision to receive a cochlear implant. Following activation, she said one of the most amazing changes was being able to enjoy music again, and she even learned to match her voice to the pitch of a piano! 🎹

Last week, our office came together to celebrate MED-EL recipient Jeff's 25th implantiversary. 👂💕🎂

Jeff took time to share some of the emotional moments from his hearing journey with our team, including special home videos featuring his oldest son playing guitar and talking on the phone with his father for the first time in years.

We're so proud of Jeff, and here's to many more years of hearing, connection, and celebration! 🥂
