I am often described as a catalyst (or agent for change), a non-conformist, a free-spirit and a visionary. Earlier in my life, I thought I could “save the world” a proverbial “Super Woman”, I had lofty goals, but soon came to realize that saving the world meant effectuating change within myself. Having come to this realization, I wholeheartedly believe that “Seeing and making a change in ones-self
is paramount to making a change in the world.” For as long as I can remember, my personal goal has been to work and help individuals make appropriate changes within themselves in numerous arenas. I believe that in so doing, I am actively “saving the world” of that particular individual. My personal goals are to DREAM BIGGER and to live life like it’s GOLDEN. The premise upon which I base my motto is Carpe Diem, which is Latin for “seize the day”. My motto is “Seize each and every opportunity presented to you, because you never know which moment may be your last”. As mentioned earlier, I have always been helpful and encouraging by nature. However, the problem I often ran into was deciding which platform I would tailor my natural God given abilities to. In 2005, I, along with others decided to start an organization for youth, Sisters of Size, Inc (S.O.S.). The program’s agenda was empowerment of the plus size teenager. The focus was development of the “total woman”, mind, body and soul. In keeping in the Spirit of S.O.S., I decided that I could in fact continue with my vision of being “My sister’s/brother’s keeper”. In 2014, I unveiled the slogan “Be PHAcTive”. The purpose of Being PHAcTive encompasses the same principles of overall development; mind, body, and soul. I attribute my measure of success to those who have planted seeds into me throughout the years. I am inspired daily by others to achieve things that some may conceive as impossible. I aspire to do the same for others by: DREAMING BIGGER, seizing the moment, “changing myself” (personal growth), and effectuating “change” one person at a time. Be PHAcTive
