• Make sure shoes are secure and laces tied to prevent trips and falls.
• Bring water and take shade breaks to avoid overheating.

This month, the American Academy of Pediatrics released an updated policy statement highlighting the importance of multiple layers of protection — including close, constant, attentive adult supervision and early swim lessons — while also addressing growing racial disparities in drowning rates.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We are grateful for their sacrifice and the freedom it affords our families each day.
