McDowell Center for Children Full and half-day programs are offered at McDowell’s satellite outpatient location.

McDowell Center is a 28-bed residential treatment facility located in Dyersburg, Tennessee, for adolescent males experiencing mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. The Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at McDowell Center for Children is a comprehensive, outpatient program designed individually to meet each patient’s specific psychiatri

c illness, behavioral problems and/or substance abuse issues. The program is less intensive than inpatient psychiatric services; however, the program provides more structure and intervention than an individual would receive in an outpatient setting. The programs offer a variety of groups and intervention services, each tailored to meet the need of the individual.

What a wonderful day of patriotism, learning, and community! 🇺🇸

Our students and staff came together for our "Voices of Freedom" Fourth of July Program, where students delivered powerful monologues highlighting the diverse voices that helped shape our nation's history, reminding us that freedom is a story told through many perspectives.

The celebration continued with a moving Presentation of the Colors and Flag Raising Ceremony, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. We were also deeply honored to recognize SFC Dan Burch for his years of dedicated military service to our country. 🎖️

A special thank you to our CEO, Mr. Ernest, who fired up the grill and prepared a delicious meal for everyone to enjoy. The day wrapped up with a fun and spirited patriotic singalong, bringing students and staff together in celebration. 🎶

We are incredibly proud of every student and staff member who worked so hard to make this day so special. Happy Fourth of July! 🎆

Sweet treats and teamwork made for a fun and memorable Friday at McDowell Center for Children.

Residents worked together to create a colorful dessert, mixing, stirring and adding pineapple along the way. The activity brought plenty of teamwork, communication and opportunities to build life skills, all while creating something sweet to enjoy together.

The day was filled with laughter, smiles and moments that turned into lasting memories. Great job to everyone who participated and helped make it special.
