Austin Letcher from the Engage Health® team joined professionals from across academia, clinical research, and nonprofit organizations to learn about the latest advances in organoid research, including new approaches to building more complex and representative disease models.

For rare disease, this work has exciting potential to deepen our understanding of disease and help move research forward for patients and families.

Thank you to R&D Systems, the University of Minnesota, and Mayo Clinic for bringing the community together!

This week, Anne Melchior from our team at Engage Health® had the opportunity to guest speak in Dr. Reena Kartha’s rare disease course at the University of Minnesota.

It was inspiring to connect with students who are just beginning to explore the science, research, policy, and patient perspectives that shape the rare disease community.

We’re grateful to Dr. Kartha for inviting us into her classroom and creating a space for meaningful conversations about how the next generation can make a difference in rare disease.

Thank you having us!

A historic milestone for the Sanfilippo community.

The FDA recently approved FAYUVI™ (UX111), developed by Ultragenyx, as the first FDA-approved treatment for Sanfilippo syndrome type A (MPS IIIA).

We’re especially proud to celebrate 𝗗𝗿. 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗢’𝗡𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗹, an Engage Health Rare Disease Difference Maker®, co-founder and Chief Science Officer of the Cure Sanfilippo Foundation. Her advocacy, research, and dedication to families have helped advance understanding and progress in this community.

A powerful reminder of what patient advocacy and persistence can accomplish in rare disease. Congratulations!
