Behind the Canvas: Georgia O'Keeffe

Georgia O'Keeffe found inspiration in the natural world, using art as a way to slow down, focus, and connect with her surroundings. Through painting, she transformed simple shapes, flowers, landscapes, and natural forms into powerful works of art that reflected both beauty and inner calm.

For O'Keeffe, creativity wasn't just about creating something beautiful—it was a way to feel grounded, quiet the noise around her, and foster a sense of independence and healing.

Her story reminds us that nature and creativity can play an important role in supporting our mental well-being. Whether it's a walk outdoors, time spent gardening, or creating art inspired by the world around us, small moments of connection can have a meaningful impact on how we feel.

We often think change requires a dramatic reset—a new year, a new plan, or a fresh start. But meaningful progress is often built through small decisions made one step at a time.

If things feel overwhelming, remember that you don't have to have everything figured out today. Sometimes growth looks like making one healthier choice, asking for support, setting a boundary, or simply taking the next step forward.

Small steps may not feel significant in the moment, but they can lead to meaningful change over time.

The words you say to yourself matter more than you may realize. Over time, your inner dialogue can shape your confidence, influence your perspective, and impact how you respond to challenges.

If you constantly tell yourself you're not good enough, your mind starts to accept that as truth. But when you practice self-compassion, patience, and encouragement, you create space for growth and resilience.

You don't have to be positive all the time. Just remember that the voice you hear most often is your own, make it one that helps you move forward, not one that holds you back.

What an incredible day!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Community Conversations & Conference: Youth Mental Health & Digital Wellness.

Together, parents, educators, mental health professionals, community leaders, and advocates came together to explore some of the most important issues facing young people today.

Through thought-provoking keynote presentations, engaging breakout sessions, meaningful discussions, and a fireside chat, attendees gained valuable insights and practical tools to help support youth mental health in an increasingly digital world.

These conversations remind us that supporting the well-being of young people is a shared responsibility, one that requires connection, collaboration, and a willingness to learn from one another.

The conversation doesn't end here. Together, we can continue building communities where young people feel supported, connected, and empowered to thrive.

A special thank you to our Opening Keynote Speaker, Erin Walsh.

Trainers - Warren Duncan, Joe Hutchins, Dr. Joshua Stein, Cherise Ayers, and Angela Lauer-Schaeppi.

Fireside Chat Speakers - Rachel Warren and Kaitlyn Traub.

Thank you to our Sponsors - Old National Bank, St. Paul Saints Baseball, movemindfully, M Health Fairview, Medica Health Plans, AgriBank, and Qualifacts.
