This summer, we shared some big news: nine Monarch communities earned the 2026 Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award from the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL). Last week, we got to celebrate in person! 🎉

At the national convention in Boston, this year’s quality award recipients were honored at a special evening celebration. Monarch team members were there with our Minnesota partners to cheer on the teams behind this recognition.

We’re seeing pink this October! 💗

Team members and residents across our Monarch communities dressed in pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, from pink scrubs and matching sweatsuits to one very bright pink wig.

A friendly reminder from all of us: if you’re due for a mammogram, this is your sign to schedule it. And if someone you love is due, give them a nudge.

When our partners at North Memorial Health invite us to support patients and families, we show up dressed for the occasion! 😊 Our team was proud to attend, and sponsor, the Making Compassion Count Gala last month. The night raised more than $960,000 for cancer care in our community.

🎓🧡 It's Scholar Spotlight time at The Villas at Osseo!

We're celebrating three team members who are pursuing their educational goals with help from the Monarch Education Assistance Program!

Meet our scholars:

🎓 Dominic Omare, RN, is studying at Southwest Minnesota State University and hopes to someday share his knowledge with others through teaching.

🎓 Beautine Obwocha, RN, is pursuing her BSN/MSN at Grand Canyon University, with dreams of stepping into an administrative role at Monarch.

🎓 Fredrica Yarweh, CNA is studying toward her BSN at Herzing University. Her inspiration? Her mom, who spent more than 20 years working as a CNA!

All three have been part of the Monarch team for about two years, and we couldn't be more excited to support their next chapters.

Monarch's Education Assistance Program provides qualifying employees with up to $8,000 annually to help them pursue their educational goals.

📚 Meet Monarch Scholar Usman Adem!

Usman is a full-time LPN at The Estates at Chateau, where he has worked for about 15 months. He is currently attending Northwest Technical College in the LPN-to-RN track.

After completing his program, Usman hopes to transition into an RN role at Chateau and continue working with the residents he has gotten to know during his time there.

Through the Monarch Education Assistance Program, Usman is taking the next step in his nursing career while continuing to serve the same community.

Monarch was proud to be the Starting Line Sponsor for this year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Greater Mankato. 💜👟

Along with a $2,500 sponsorship contribution, team members from Laurels Peak Rehabilitation Center, Hillcrest Rehabilitation Center, Oaklawn Rehabilitation Center and Laurels Edge Assisted Living came out to support the cause.

Together, this year’s Walk brought out 564 participants, 51 teams and more than $90,000 raised for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

Thank you to our Monarch teams and everyone across Greater Mankato who showed up in support of the Alzheimer's Association.

🎓✨ Meet our latest Monarch Scholar, Katherine Sanborn!

Katherine has been a CNA at Lakeshore Rehabilitation Center in Waseca for nearly two years and is currently studying pre-nursing at South Central College.

Her inspiration to become a nurse comes from caring for her grandmother — an experience that helped shape the path she wants to pursue in healthcare.

Through the Monarch Education Assistance Program, Katherine is continuing her education while building on the experience she gains every day as a CNA.

We’re excited to see where her nursing journey takes her next! 🧡

We’re excited to share that Monarch Healthcare Management will acquire Thorne Crest Senior Community in Albert Lea, Minnesota.

Beginning November 1, the community will operate as The Residences at Thorne Crest.

Thorne Crest has a proud history of serving Albert Lea and the surrounding area, and we are honored to continue that tradition. Over the coming weeks, current ownership and Monarch teams will work together to support a smooth and thoughtful transition for residents and staff.

We look forward to becoming part of the Albert Lea community and continuing the quality care and service families have come to know.
