We are often asked about the difference between acupuncture and dry needling. For those interested in learning more, we highly recommend this excellent article by our teacher and mentor, Matt Callison, one of the pioneers in sports medicine acupuncture and myofascial pain treatment.
Dr. Kristen Burris, DAcCHM, and Tony Burris, LAc, MSTOM, were privileged to study under Mr. Callison, including his renowned cadaver anatomy training. Dr. Burris also worked alongside him in clinical practice, while Mr. Tony Burris, LAc, MSTOM, trained with him at the UCSD RIMAC Sports Center, treating collegiate athletes recovering from pain and injury.
Our education included extensive training in:
✔️ Anatomy and cadaver dissection
✔️ Orthopedic and neurological evaluation
✔️ Sports medicine and injury rehabilitation
✔️ Pain syndromes and myofascial dysfunction
✔️ Medical terminology and clinical assessment
In addition, Dr. Kristen Burris, DAcCHM, successfully completed and passed four board examinations, including California and National licensing exams. Tony Burris, LAc, MSTOM, successfully completed and passed two California board examinations.
At Eagle Acupuncture, we combine advanced anatomical knowledge with traditional acupuncture principles to effectively treat pain, injuries, muscle dysfunction, and sports-related conditions. As experts in acupuncture, Ah Shi techniques, and dry needling approaches, our goal is to identify the root cause of pain and help patients recover safely and effectively.
