September is Su***de Prevention Month, a time to remember, reflect, and take action.

The Montgomery County Coroner’s Office placed 91 purple and blue pinwheels outside our facility to honor the 91 Montgomery County, PA residents who lost their lives to su***de last year. Each pinwheel represents a life, a family, and a community forever changed by loss. As we remember those we have lost, we must also focus on hope.

Su***de prevention starts with connection, compassion, and a willingness to reach out when someone may be struggling. Together, we can help build a community where no one feels alone and where seeking help is seen as a sign of strength.

Attended Bridgeport National Night Out last week and had the chance to speak with community members, elected officials, and local partners. Building relationships and having meaningful conversations outside the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office is an important part of my public service.
