Want to start Leafscript today?

You don't need a fancy curriculum or an expensive kit. You can start right now at your kitchen table:

1 Pull out the crayons, markers, or colored pencils.🖍️

2 Let your child draw whatever they like…..better yet, you draw your own picture

3 Say, “Tell me about your picture…”

4 Label their drawing with just one word (like "Cat").

5 Have your child ‘read’ their story to you over and over again.

6 Watch the magic happen as they OWN that word.

Do this every day, combine the pages, and your little one will have authored their very first book.

Simple.
Deep.
Joyful.😀

The Leafscript method is repeatable and easily adaptable to whatever stage of literacy your child is in.

And just like the tree, it grows right along with your child 🌳.

Follow the link for a free 30 minute consultation with Stephanie - or sign up for Leafscript: Draw. Spell. Read. here: ontrackot.org. 🌱🍄

Can Leafscript: Draw. Spell. Read.🌱 be done online?

You betcha. 🤩 I’ve had a few questions lately about whether Leafscript™ can be done in an online format.

The answer is a resounding yes!👍

It just takes a different way of thinking.

If you aren’t able to join me in our little cottage classroom here in beautiful, green Greene County, New York, I can easily meet you and your child right through the screen.

Here is exactly what you can expect from an online session:

✨ The Process: In the beginning, I will do most of the heavy lifting. You will be on your side of the screen simply supporting your child. But very quickly, you’ll learn the 3 steps and find yourself predicting exactly what comes next. I act as your guide—and essentially, your Literacy Fairy Godmother! 🪄✨🧚‍♂️

✨ Zero Worries: If your questions aren’t fully answered during our 30-minute session, you can always reach out to me via text.

When families work with Scott and me, they become family. 💕While we still maintain healthy business boundaries, we truly encourage you to reach out.

We do what we do because we love spreading smiles.

🌱 A Gentle Warning: If you head over to our website expecting something hyper-polished and corporate, you will be sorely disappointed! We are heart-centered and hands-on.😆

How to Save Your Spot:
Go to ontrackot.org and look for LEAFSCRIPT. Fill out the form, tell me a little bit about your child, and let me know if you are looking for online or in-person support. From there, you can start reserving your sessions.

Please note: Direct 1:1 sessions are extremely limited because I give 100% of myself to each and every family I serve.

Take a look at the website first, and then reach out with any questions. I can’t wait to meet you on the trail!

Yours in literacy,
Stephanie 🌾🌈

Last year, Scott and I walked the
🌱Enchanted Literacy Trail ✨with our students, tracking the hidden signs of gryphons, goblins, dwarves, and faeries.

It reminded us that when you blend imagination with learning, magic happens.❤️

This summer, the trunk of our tree splits into two beautiful new branches:

Leafscript: Draw. Spell. Read.™ 🖍️✨📖

and

Scribe & Sword™ (our D&D + Literacy program). 🎲🪄✨

Both are entirely child-led, nature-inspired, and designed to get kids off screens and into deep connection.

Whether your child is a newly sprouting reader or an older student looking for an adventure, we’re building a path for them.

We like building paths 🤩.

Take a gander at OnTrackot.org for more info 👀.

We have the same concerns, Mr. Rogers. ❤️

This summer we’re offering Leafscript: Draw. Spell. Read ™ in-person and 1:1.

Magic happens when you allow your child to lead….when you give your child the SPACE to think, wonder and dream - and when you really listen and interact.

Children WANT to learn the language of literacy.

But sometimes entry into this language feels inaccessible to children - and parents are often overwhelming to parents.

This summer I’ll show you the approach that I’ve used for over thirty years to give little ones a head-start in reading.

This same approach is how my kids entered preschool already knowing how to read.

If you are unable to make it to verdant Greene County, NY to work in person with me, I am working on a Leafscript™ coaching component inside Canopy. Reach out if that interests you - it’s still in the planning and building stage so you could get in on the ground floor at a discounted rate.

Yeehaw! Saving money is always a reason to celebrate!

And lastly - if you still want a taste of what Scott and I offer through On Track, you can download my free guide: “Gentle + Joyful Tips to Get Your Kids Reading” in the link in bio - or visit our website to see what we do and download some of our other helpful freebies.

We are lucky enough to do exactly what we love in our practice. 💕

And that means that we do the same for our clients.

A child’s occupation is play. So we use play to address their goals.

Scott has spent the past three years diving deeply into researching the use of role playing games, such as Dungeons & Dragons, to decrease social anxiety in adolescents.

The monopoly game 👆is an example of using something that a student loves. He is an extremely reluctant writer but through a game, I am able to get him to stretch his creativity muscles and think a little outside the box.

He knew that spelling didn’t matter in this case. He was just writing for pure pleasure. We began by making additional’Chance’ and ‘Community’ cards - and then I’ll slowly ask more from him.

In a game like Monopoly, you can do so many things that encourage reading and writing.

Each property can have a backstory.

And you and your child can write about the renters, the landlord, what the property looks like, how the house is decorated, its heating system, etc.

It’s all fair game!

The sky truly is the limit.

There is nothing that stops you from being as creative as you or your child wants to be.

And once you start with one game, this creativity will bleed into other games and others, and soon you’ll see that you can incorporate literacy into almost anything you do!

Learning to read doesn’t have to just happen in the classroom. There are lots of things that you can do to encourage reading, and reading readiness - at home, every day, gently and joyfully, with ease, and through PLAY.

Put the screens down and pull out a board game. 🤩
