Resident Achievement Spotlight: Lonnie Saxon

For Foothills resident Lonnie Saxon, earning the Purple Heart is more than an award. It is a testament to the courage, sacrifice, and resilience he demonstrated while serving our country in Vietnam.

Despite the lasting injuries he endured, Lonnie remains grateful and humble. His story reminds us of the strength of the human spirit and the price paid by so many who have served.

Wellness, connection, and community were on full display at our annual Wellness Fair! 💙

Residents and team members kicked off the day with yoga before exploring resources from more than 30 vendors focused on every dimension of wellness. From physical health to social connection and purposeful living, the event was a great reminder that community living helps us stay active, engaged, and thriving.

A big thank you to our vendors, residents, and team members for making this year's Wellness Fair such a success!

When Assisted Living residents describe Kendra Bagwell, the same words come up again and again: caring, dependable, cheerful, and always willing to help.

Jay Seabrook appreciates that Kendra remembers his breakfast preferences and even prepares a sandwich for him when he travels. He says it's the kind of thoughtful gesture family would make and one of the reasons Foothills feels like home.
Virginia Hoekstra describes Kendra as someone who is always there when needed and simply wanted to thank her for her service. She especially enjoys Kendra's cheerful personality and hearing her sing along to favorite songs.

Bob Smith values Kendra's supportive nature, positive attitude, and the way she consistently takes care of residents' needs. His message is simple: thank you for always being there.

Rebecca Epting praises Kendra's professionalism and reliability, noting that when Kendra says she'll do something, it gets done. She also loves Kendra's infectious laugh that brightens the community.

At Foothills Retirement Community, our Concierge Team is so much more than a warm welcome. They help residents navigate daily life, offer exceptional service, and create the caring atmosphere that makes our community feel like home. ❤️

When asked what she enjoys most about working at Foothills, Bea Prentiss shared that she loves building relationships with residents and cherishes the moments they stop by to chat or ask for assistance. She also appreciates the supportive friendships and teamwork among her colleagues.

For Yvonne Gerlach, one of her favorite Foothills memories was participating in our Fashion Show benefiting the Greenville Area Parkinson’s Society. She especially enjoyed getting ready alongside fellow team members and being part of an event that supported a cause meaningful to so many residents and staff.
