Not only am I posting this to pay my respects ππΌ to Tim Curry as a wonderful actor , but when he had his massive stroke, it was caught by a Massage Therapist!! Our careers are often made fun of or not given enough credit to, but it is not only a luxury , itβs a necessity!! We see things and notice things that a regular primary doctor will often overlook and dismiss you as a clean Bill of Health !!! Iβve caught a stroke in my practice and have send many people to hospitals for high blood pressure, signs of Blood Clots and cancerous looking moles!! So before you think this is just a luxury or maybe a waste of money, look at it as a necessity, because some of us actually take the time out to actually care and point out things that are of potential medical concern!! Props to the therapist who noticed these signs!! ππΌ
Tim Curry had no warning signs. It was a massage therapist who noticed that something was wrong, and hours later the actor was undergoing brain surgery.
It was June 2012 when a massive stroke robbed him of the use of his legs and partially paralyzed the left side of his face. Curry, who had made history as Dr. Frank-N-Furter and as Pennywise, had to relearn how to speak from scratch. In an interview with CBS Sunday Morning in October 2025, he recounted it matter-of-factly: the wheelchair became part of his daily life, and he was never able to regain the ability to walkβsomething he also confirmed in his memoir, 'Vagabond'.
The British actor, born in 1946 in Cheshire, died on August 25, 2026, at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 80. His father had died of a stroke when Curry was just 10 years old. Thirteen years after losing his mobility, he continued working, speaking about his condition with humor and approaching each interview as another form of resistance.
REST IN PEACE TIM CURRY
