Buffalo Chapter AAPC The AAPC was founded to elevate the standards of medical coding through student training, certification, CEUs, networking, and job opportunities.

The Buffalo New York Chapter of the American Academy of Professional Coders would like to welcome all of you to our organization. Our goals have always included providing our members with low cost or free CEUs, serving as a hub in the coding and billing community for employment opportunities, and serving as an education resource. However, the extent of our success lies in meeting our members’ need

s and expectations. For this reason, we rely on positive and negative feedback to help us improve our performance. Your voice is important and we encourage you to contact us at [email protected]. Our Local Chapter page will provide you with event reminders, networking, photos from our events, and more. Please feel free to utilize the page to ask questions, provide suggestions, and network with your fellow members. Our chapter had 567 members in January 2015‒which grew to 707 members by December 2015. As of February 2022, we have 882 members and counting. The behind the scenes planning and ex*****on takes time, dedication and coordination among your fellow officers, but it’s your continued support as a member and your attendance that makes all the difference between simply existing as a local chapter or flourishing as an effective and vibrant organization. Reminder that last weeks Chapter Meeting, "Building an Audit Program for VBC", has been rescheduled for tomorrow evening!
It will take place at the same time (6pm) and your previous Zoom link should work for access to the meeting. A new link should have been sent to your email as well, just in case!

Happy Thursday Members! We're almost to the end of the week! 🌞

Here's your friendly reminder that Donna Malone, who currently serves as the President for the AAPC Watertown, MA Chapter and is on the AAPC National Advisory Boards (2022-2025), will be speaking virtually on March 9th at 6pm!
She will be giving an overview on "Building an Audit Program for Value Based Care".

Goals of the program include: an overview of Government Audits (OIG, CMS RADV, and HHS RADV), reviewing the barriers of developing an audit program, understanding the importance of accurate patient complexity, developing a strong audit program, and Provider feedback and education. CEU's will be awarded upon completion.

Local Chapter Upcoming Events:

Exams: February 26th at the Marriott. Start time is 9am, but please arrive early- book check begins at 8:30am

Local Chapter Meeting: "Building an Audit Program for VBC" (Virtual Meeting) with Guest Speaker Donna Malone, CPC, CRC, CRC-I, AHCCA, RAP. This will be held from 6pm to 8pm. Members will receive 1.5 CEU's upon completion.

Education Day: This will be held virtually on April 22nd from 8AM-4PM. The speakers and schedule will be announced soon!
