August is National Wellness Month a perfect reminder that wellness is about more than physical health. Healthy habits like sleep, movement, nutrition, connection and managing stress build resilience and help youth make healthy choices. As summer winds down, now is the perfect time to build routines for a successful school year.

Thank You, The Pink Cow Ice Cream Shop and Momma Cow's Treat Emporium !

A huge thank you to The Pink Cow for donating free ice cream coupons that we included in our event goodie bags! Your generosity helped make the day even more special for the youth and families who stopped by our table.

While they were there, kids spun our Prevention Wheel and answered fun prompts that encouraged healthy choices, gratitude, family connection, goal setting, and identifying trusted adults. We loved hearing their thoughtful responses!

Some of our favorites included:
๐Ÿ’™ Victoria (10): "My goal for this school year is to not complain."
๐Ÿ’™ Gio (6): One way he says no is, "No, thank you."
๐Ÿ’™ Silas (11): His favorite thing to do with his family is "play board games."
๐Ÿ’™ Annabella (10): Her healthy habit is to "crochet."

Conversations like these help reinforce the protective factors that keep young people healthy and connected. They also remind us that prevention can happen through simple, meaningful interactions.

Thank you again, Pink Cow, for helping make our community a little sweeter while supporting positive, healthy, alcohol- and drug-free activities! And of course, much thanks to Grace In Community Church for inviting us to your fabulous event!
