This past winter, we launched an 8-week therapeutic boxing group in partnership with to give youth a meaningful and active outlet during a season when opportunities can be limited. While many programs occur in the spring and summer, we intentionally created this program for the winter months, which made a powerful impact.

Through this program, 16 youth learned foundational boxing skills while also developing emotional regulation and stress management techniques in a supportive environment.

We are incredibly grateful to for providing the grant that made this possible. Because of their support, we were able to cover the full cost of the program and provide transportation, ensuring accessibility for all participants.

The group was beyond successful. A special thank you to our amazing therapist, Ryan for leading the 8–12 age group, and to our CEO, Dr. Britt, for leading the 13–17 group with intention and care. We also want to recognize Coach Jeff for his dedication throughout the program.Your impact truly made a difference. Thank you as well to Coach Dionne, Ms. Carol, and Coach JT for your continued guidance and support. Special thanks to our wonderful IIC Coordinator that worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure our youth got to the gym on time! Lastly thanks to for the phenomenal services in getting our youth from the gym back to their homes safely!

We are especially proud to share that two of our participants demonstrated exceptional skill and commitment. We were honored to sponsor them to continue their boxing journey!

The photo shared here is from our closing stone ceremony, where each youth received a stone representing a strength they demonstrated throughout the program, something we encouraged them to carry forward beyond the group. They absolutely loved them.

We’re so proud of all of our youth and everything they accomplished. We hope to do it again in Winter 2026! 🥊

Because we don’t validate that doing the work on yourself IS work too. Most of us work full time jobs, have other jobs and roles that take our time. Yet the one job we don’t count the cost for is changing; learning and unlearning is a big deal. Changing uses the spiritual, emotional, mental and physical capacity. When you’re learning and unlearning you’re literally breaking the foundation of what was, cleaning up that foundation and relaying a whole new foundation. As you tear down and rebuild, you will question everything you’re doing, be uncertain, beat yourself up, and consider things you’ve never considered before. Here’s the thing, learning and unlearning is happening simultaneously while we are doing other things. So, please be mindful that your exhaustion is not just from the boss, the business, the children, the family, etc, you are doing valuable work to not be the same as you were. You are literally breaking generational patterns of dysfunction so you can be better and the next generation can be better. That’s double work! You’re tired. And you’re okay. Get some rest.
