Yesenia Mendez

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Yesenia Mendez, who passed away at the age of 39. Born on May 19, 1987, Yesenia was a beloved daughter, mother, wife, sister, aunt, and friend whose life was filled with love, strength, kindness, and a radiant spirit that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Yesenia was truly one of a kind. She was the best mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend anyone could ask for. Above all, she was an extraordinary mother to her two beautiful daughters, Illianna and Victoria, who were her entire world. Everything she did was for them. She worked tirelessly to give her girls the world, always putting their happiness, comfort, and future before her own. Her love for them was endless, and she was determined to make sure they always knew how deeply they were loved. As a devoted wife, Yesenia stood faithfully by her husband, William, sharing a love and commitment that will forever remain a part of their family’s story.

As a daughter, Yesenia was caring and loving. As a sister, she was the backbone of our family, the one we could lean on when life became difficult. She was the joy of our home, bringing light into every room with her positive attitude, beautiful smile, and loving heart. No matter what challenges she faced, Yesenia showed a strength that was truly remarkable. She was a strong woman who continued to give, love, and fight for the people who meant the most to her. Her radiant personality, compassionate nature, and genuine beauty went far beyond what the eye could see. She had a way of making those around her feel loved, supported, and never alone. Her presence was a blessing, her laughter was a gift, and her love was the foundation that held so much of our family together.

Yesenia leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, resilience, and devotion. Though our hearts are shattered by her absence, the memories she created, the lessons she taught us, and the love she poured into our lives will remain with us forever. She was more than a sister, more than a mother, and more than a wife; she was a light in our lives, a source of strength, and a piece of our hearts that can never be replaced.

The thought of beginning this new journey without her is one of the hardest challenges our family will ever face. We cannot imagine the holidays, birthdays, family gatherings, and everyday moments without her beautiful presence. We will miss her voice, her smile, her laughter, her advice, and the comfort of knowing she was always there. There will forever be an emptiness in our hearts and in our home that only she could fill. Although we must learn to navigate life without her beside us, we will carry her with us in everything we do. We will honor her by loving one another as she loved us, standing strong as she taught us, and keeping her memory alive in the hearts of her daughters and everyone who loved her.

Those She Leaves Behind

Yesenia is survived by her devoted husband, William N. Pino; her two beloved daughters, Ilianna Pino and Victoria Pino, who were the center of her universe; her father, Jesus Mendez; her mother, Martha Perez; her brothers, Jesus Mendez and Jose Mendez; her sister, Sarai Mendez; and her grandmother, Antonia Jimenez. Her four niece's Ava, Annalise, Alessia and Aurora Mendez. She also leaves behind numerous extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Those Who Preceded Her in Death

Yesenia was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Maria Dolores Jimenez; her grandfathers, Alvino Jimenez and Cruz Mendez; and her grandmother, Maria Guadalupe Mendez Robles.

Forever in Our Hearts

Yesenia, you were loved more than words could ever express, and you will be missed more than our hearts can bear. Thank you for being the beautiful soul who brought joy into our home, strength into our family, and unconditional love into the lives of everyone around you. Thank you for being an incredible mother to your girls, a devoted wife, a loving daughter, strong sister, and a wonderful friend.

Although we wish we had more time with you, we are forever grateful for the years, memories, and love we were blessed to share. Your journey here may have ended far too soon, but your story will never end in the hearts of those who love you. We will see you in the smiles of your daughters, in the memories we hold close, and in the love that will forever connect us.

You may be gone from our sight, but you will never be gone from our hearts. Until we meet again, may you rest peacefully in the loving arms of God. We love you always, and we will carry you with us forever.

Esperanza was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered around her family. She was married to Adolfo Tirado Camargo, the love of her life, who preceded her in death ten years ago at the same age of 91.

Together, Esperanza and Adolfo built a beautiful family of eleven children: José Luz Tirado, Roberto Tirado, Felipe Tirado, Reina Tirado, Tarsicio Tirado, Adolfo Tirado, Domitila Tirado, José Luis Tirado, Jorge Tirado, Jesús Tirado, and Elisa Tirado. She was preceded in death by her beloved children Felipe Tirado and Tarsicio Tirado.

Esperanza spent 20 years of her marriage living in San Angel, Guanajuato. In her later years she divided her time between Tarimoro, Guanajuato, where she lived with her son Roberto, and Hammond, Indiana, where she spent time with her daughter Domitila. No matter where she was, her heart was always with her family.

She leaves behind a large and loving family, including many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the beginning of another generation of great-great-grandchildren. Esperanza was a woman who was deeply loved and cherished by all who knew her. She was caring, nurturing, generous, and devoted to the people she loved. As a homemaker and mother, she poured her heart into caring for her family and creating a home filled with love.

Her faith was an important part of her life. She found peace and comfort in prayer, and her quiet devotion was a source of strength for herself and those around her.

She also found joy in the simple beauty of life. She loved tending to her garden, putting love and care into the plants she nurtured. She enjoyed listening to Rancheras and Norteñas, music which brought her happiness and filled her days with familiar melodies.

Those who knew Esperanza will remember her not only for the years she lived, but for the love she gave so freely. Her hands cared for generations, her prayers carried her family, and her love created a legacy that will never be forgotten.

Marisela Favela-Gomez

Marisela Favela-Gomez passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 43. Born on July 3, 1983, she will be remembered with deep love for the devotion she gave to her family and for the tenderness she brought into the lives of those closest to her.

Among the memories held most dearly are the quiet, faithful moments she shared with her daughters, praying with them every night. She also created joyful family memories on a trip to Disneyland, where riding the Winnie the Pooh ride became one of the moments treasured by those who shared it with her. These simple and loving acts reflected the heart of a woman who found meaning in caring for her family and in making time together memorable.

Marisela is survived by her beloved daughters, Isela Rodriguez-Favela and BellaRose Rodriguez-Favela and their dog Chip, who were at the center of her life. She is also survived by her mother, Christina Favela, and her father, Noe Favela; by her sisters Celina Favela-O'Bannon, and Estrella Favela-Gomez; by her brother, Michael Gomez; by her sister-in-law, Veronica Lopez; by her brothers-in-law, Eric O'Bannon and John Denisiuk; her nieces Juelisa, Gabriella and Alyssa; nephews Elijah, Noah and Nolan; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and by Eddie Elizondo, her partner of more than two years. Each of them carries forward the memory of her love, her presence, and the many moments they shared together.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Noelito Favela, and beloved cousin, Martin Favela.

Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Marisela; visitation on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Acevez Funeral Home, 4404 Cameron Ave, Hammond, IN 46327. Final viewing and closing prayers will be held there on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A Mass will follow from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at St. Casimir Church, 4340 Johnson Avenue, Hammond, IN 46327. Private cremation will follow the Mass, and the burial of her ashes will take place at a later date.

Marisela’s life was anchored in her deep and unwavering love for her family and friends, a love she carried with her in every chapter of her journey. She found joy in the simple moments—cheering at Sox games, savoring her daily coffee, and proudly adding to her cherished collection of Starbucks cups, each one a small reminder of places she’d visited and memories she treasured. Caring, silly, strong, radiant, and truly beautiful, Marisela brought warmth and light wherever she went. She loved to travel and embraced every opportunity to explore new places with excitement and curiosity. Above all, she adored her nieces and nephews, pouring into them the same humor, tenderness, and strength that made her so special. Her presence was a gift, and her love will continue to live on in the hearts of those she held closest.
