First time visiting a dermatologist for elective treatment? Here’s what to expect.

We’ve been getting so many calls at the office lately from first-time patients.
They are curious about the elective treatments we offer, but a little nervous
because....well, the unknown. So we thought we would walk you through a
what to expect.

At Tokarz Dermatology, your first visit is all about you. You’ll have dedicated,
one-on-one time with Dr. Tokarz to talk about your goals and concerns. We

What I’m Listening to This Week 🎧

The NYT Wirecutter Podcast had a good review of Retinols -if you have 30min this is worth the listen.

Dermatologists will tell our patients- 💯 Retinols make the skin healthier from acne to aging. But some people need to start gradually and may want to try OTC (over-the-counter) versions and they discuss their favs.

I’ve been into The Daily from lately. The episode from May 17 “Can We Reverse Aging?” really caught my attention. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-daily/id1200361736?i=1000768238765
As a dermatologist, I always find it interesting to hear how aging is being talked about. It’s fascinating when you think about how science, the media, and medicine intersect.
There’s so much buzz right now around reversing aging and the latest trends.
Here’s my quick take: It’s not as simple about reversing damage done. We should be taking care of our skin in a smart, realistic way over time. And it’s
never to late to start.
Definitely worth a listen if you’re curious too.
