The D’Esopo Family and Staff are proud to join the effort to restore the steeple of First Church of Christ in Wethersfield to its original beauty with a $10,000 contribution to the restoration project.

For generations, the steeple has watched over our communities, serving as a beacon of hope and support through every season of history. It is a privilege for the D’Esopo family to be part of preserving this cherished legacy for generations to come.

Funeral Fact Friday:

In ancient Greece, the phrase “to need celery” (deisthai selinon) was used for someone who was dangerously ill and close to death.

Why celery?
Celery was associated with death and funerals and was used in funeral wreaths and placed on tombs. So, saying someone “needed celery” was a way of saying they were nearing the end.

Honoring a Final Journey:

At a family’s request, we were honored to arrange a horse-drawn carriage for a funeral procession to the cemetery.

The horse and carriage provided a beautiful and dignified way to accompany their loved one on their final journey, reflecting the family’s wishes and creating a meaningful farewell.

We are grateful to be able to help families honor their loved ones in ways that are personal and meaningful to them.

We are honored to share the story of Richard “Dick” Thomas Dubay.

Dick was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during the Vietnam era. In addition to his career in aerospace, he enjoyed his time as a member of the Elks and the American Legion. He was also an avid Red Sox and Saints fan.

Most importantly, Dick was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

The Neptune Memorial Reef™ is an underwater memorial located about 3 miles off the coast of Key Biscayne near Miami, Florida, approximately 40 feet beneath the surface.

Designed as an artistic interpretation of the Lost City of Atlantis, the reef offers families a unique way to memorialize someone who chose cremation.
