Hot take 19/30: a C-section delivery is not a free pass from pelvic floor recovery.
It’s a common myth — ‘you didn’t deliver vaginally, so your pelvic floor is fine.’ But pregnancy itself puts significant load on the pelvic floor for nine months, regardless of how delivery happens. The weight of the growing uterus, the pressure changes, the postural shifts — your pelvic floor is working the entire time.
C-section moms can absolutely struggle with leakage, pelvic pain, core dysfunction, and prolapse symptoms too — plus recovering from major abdominal surgery on top of it.
Pelvic floor rehab isn’t just for vaginal deliveries. If you had a C-section and no one’s talked to you about your pelvic floor, that’s a gap in your care, not a sign you don’t need it. 🤍
