*Update* Responders Refuge has added a part time LMHC Clinican, and now has openings. The clinican specialize in first responders, family members, children and spouses. We currently have about 6 openings and have no wait list. Please share the post to make sure those that need the help, know it's available and can get it.

Responders Refuge has in three months gone from a side project to a full time financially stable company. It started as a fever dream, for seven years of my life, I spoke with officers, fire fighters, EMT's and our service members. I heard horror stories of seeking help and feeling that they broke their therapist. That they were scared to go back and seek help because they were so bad that they broke the professional. What is best practice for trauma work, is it the variety of modalities, minimization of risk, reduction of symptoms? All these things are important but are not what sets Responders Refuge apart from other provider offices. We seek to provide what our career first responders and military clearly communicated to me during these conversations, that one piece that was so frequently lacking in other locations. It was for the provider to be "someone who gets the job because they have lived the job" as responders refuge gets close to its first expansion that is the commitment I as CEO make, as it grows we will always hire those who have either lived experience as a first responder, or tertiary connection to these groups. "The trauma's of the job are real and lasting, Heroes deserve healing" its not just a motto, its literally what we do.
