Dinner and a show at The Storrowton Tavern to see Jimmy Mazz, was a great time! The bus was loaded to capacity and we had a total of 15 attendees. As always, Jimmy put on a great show and the meal was delicious. We look forward to the October show.

Our creativity shines at East Village Place. Pictured are folks making floral greeting cards and another group tried their hand at stencil painting. The projects came out beautifully and more opportunities for art classes will be scheduled.

Lunch out trips are very popular at East Village Place. We traveled to Warehouse Point in CT to Maine Fish Market. The food was great, the company was wonderful and everyone enjoyed the trip.

Music can motivate and inspire folks of all ages. At East Village Place we have a variety of weekly entertainment for all to enjoy. Irving Lewis entertained us with Motown hits. Staff and residents enjoyed dancing to the music. A great time was had by all.

We love to celebrate birthdays at East Village Place! We are thrilled when families get involved and decorate doors and share cake with all of us! Recently Al Riberdy celebrated his 95th birthday and had fun sharing his door decorations, hat, sash, cake and special chocolates with all of us. Sue Peterson recently celebrated her 80th birthday and her family shared a frame of photos outside of her apartment. It was a lot of fun looking at her photos when she was young!

When you think of summer, ice cream comes to mind. Every month East Village Place plans multiple trips out for ice cream. Most recently we went to Collins Creamery in Enfield, CT. It is very pastoral and peaceful place with delicious ice cream.

East Village Place is filled with exceptionally talented, creative individuals, and we are proud to celebrate their incredible work. Our recent Art Show showcased more than 25 entries, and the competition was fierce!

In First Place was Bob Howell with Two Men. In Second Place was Elaine Gross with Wolves, and in Third Place was Evelyn Draper with Crocheted Afghan and Elaine Gross with Seasons.

Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to all of our talented artists that entered this year!

East Village Place took advantage of the beautiful weather and had a picnic at Forest Park. We packed a lunch and enjoyed the beautiful landscape, people watching and listening to the nearby zoo animals.

Did you know we're pet friendly? East Village Place is an extraordinary community where people – and their pets – thrive.

Meet Elaine Gross and Nettie Rose! This dynamic duo is enjoying all the perks that carefree retirement living has to offer. Elaine has had Nettie Rose for 10 years. Nettie is 13 years old. Elaine rescued her from a neighbor who could no longer properly care for the dog. Elaine can be seen pushing Nettie Rose in her pink stroller around our community. She loves the pets and attention.

Pets and people both deserve comfortable surroundings where they can count on delicious meals, plenty of play time, and fun people to hang out with day and night.
