Warriors for Warriors

Warriors for Warriors WfW is a non-profit offering free acupuncture treatment, and wellness and True Warriorship training founded the non-profit Warriors for Warriors, Inc. D.E.A.T.H.

Along with a dedicated group of his students and patients, Sensei David LoPriore, L.Ac. (WfW) and it’s Community Acupuncture for Veterans Project (CAV) in February, 2014 in East Lyme, Connecticut USA. We raised sufficient funds to offer completely free, advanced, community-style acupuncture treatment events four times monthly to US military service members and veterans, using protocols and techniq

ues Sensei LoPriore developed over 25 years in practice. In 2014, we offered nearly 400 of these free treatments all across Connecticut, including for the CT ARNG at the Hartford Armory, and at the Rocky Hill Veteran’s Home. With CAV treatment events, we are effectively treating PTS, anxiety, depression, substance abuse/addiction problems, chronic pain, insomnia, and many other issues facing individual veterans. As of June 2016, we have now offered over 900 free treatments through CAV and other WFW programs. More importantly, we have helped to prevent at least five veteran su***des through our programs. Once Warriors for Warriors’ non-profit status was approved in March, 2015, we began phase II fundraising for the True Warriorship program, which offers comprehensive, unique, patient-centered whole health treatment and education to individual veterans free of charge. This program includes a comprehensive 90-minute holistic health assessment, a course of 8-32 acupuncture treatments, and 6-12 months of holistic wellness training. This training may include meditation, Asian energy balancing exercises, health & wellness and PTS discussion groups, traditional martial arts, advanced personal protection training, and much more. Sensei LoPriore has 25 years’ experience and is a pioneer in Asian medicine in the U.S. He is the 23rd generation Headmaster of Kosho Shorei Shin Kai, an 800-year-old art of warriorship, mindfulness and holistic wellness developed by Japanese warrior-monks in 1235 a.d. As a teacher of the traditional Japanese martial arts and the C.H.E.A.T. advanced personal combative program for military special and regular forces and law enforcement officers, Sensei LoPriore has a unique perspective on working with our nation’s warriors. As an acupuncturist and psychological wellness counselor, he has been successful in treating veterans with severe cases of chronic pain, Post Traumatic Stress, TBIs, and other conditions where drug-based treatment approaches and many other treatment modalities had failed for decades. Please help us raise funds for this essential new effort.

Warriors for Warriors would like to thank Steve Ricard, John Russel and everyone else who made the ninth annual Veterans appreciation day at Ocean Beach Park such a huge success today. We connected with all the service branches and our buddies with the VA, Irreverent Warriors, Connecticut Veterans Bulletin, New London Police Department, and so many more, and were able to give free acupuncture to 20 military service members, Veterans, and first responders. Thank you to Kaity Devlin-Perry, Felicia Baker, L.Ac., Michelle DeChaine RN, and Dave LoPriore Sensei, L.Ac. For volunteering for WFW today.

Some wounds are carried in silence.

They do not always show up in ways the world can easily recognize. They may look like sleepless nights, distance from the people you love, a quick temper, a heavy mind, or the quiet effort it takes just to make it through another day.

For many Veterans, First Responders, service members, and survivors, the hardest battles do not always end when the deployment is over, the shift is finished, or the emergency has passed. Sometimes, the mind and body keep carrying what the heart has already tried to survive.

This PTSD Awareness Month, we want to remind our community that struggling does not make someone weak. Needing help does not make someone broken. Carrying pain does not mean someone is beyond hope.

Healing can be slow. It can be complicated. It can take more courage than most people will ever see. But every conversation, every check-in, every honest “I’m not okay,” and every decision to keep going matters.

At Til Valhalla Project, we believe in Honoring the Fallen, but we also believe in standing beside those who are still fighting silent battles. This month is a reminder to listen better, reach out sooner, and make sure the people around us know they do not have to carry the weight alone.

Your story is not over.

🇺🇸 Check on your people. Stay in the fight. You matter.
