Many people recognize Rynn Saputo as a valued member of the Professional Care team at our East Patchogue office. What many may not know is that Rynn also has a deep passion for martial arts. She trains in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo, a journey that began at just six years old when her father—who also practiced martial arts—enrolled her so they could share the experience together.

Over the winter, Rynn trained closely with our ProCare Athletic Performance team at our Islip facility as she prepared for several world‑level competitions. These events brought together martial arts athletes from across the United States. We are proud to share that Rynn earned GOLD this month at the National American Grappling Association Tournament, and Silver Medals on both March 21st and May 2nd in the World Leagues, proudly representing Professional Care and PCAP.

The focus on mobility, recovery, strength, and movement helped me feel stronger, more prepared and confident stepping onto the mats. Congratulations to Cheryn Gonzalez Rendon! We are proud to announce her as this year’s recipient of the Professional Care Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Scholarship.

Cheryn is a graduating senior from the Patchogue‑Medford Class of 2026 and will be attending Farmingdale State College this fall to study Applied Psychology. Her long‑term goal is to pursue Physical Therapy school and become a Pediatric Physical Therapist — a path that reflects compassion, dedication, and a true commitment to helping others.

Each year, Professional Care awards this scholarship to a deserving Pat‑Med graduate pursuing a future in the field of Physical Therapy. Cheryn represents everything this scholarship stands for, and we are honored to support her journey.
