It’s been a while since I’ve attended a reunion because of various reasons but all roads on my journey right now point toward the divine assignment of connecting with family and my Egúngún.
I’m so grateful my Aunt urged me to come to my mamas side family reunion this year, after expressing her severe discomfort with talking about my grandma due to some trauma her and my mama and all their siblings experienced. Grateful for the prayers I learned my aunt and elder cousin prayed that we (my siblings and I) would connect with our family. Grateful for the mind to be obedient and push past my own discomfort that I’m learning was really not my own.
What a joyous weekend I had with family. I met/re-met some dynamic, beautiful people, this Elder being one of them. I truly think/feel my Gma Gurlie and Mama Gloria orchestrated the meeting and I am grateful. I learned a lot, felt a lot, left with a lot to chew on and some pathways to explore on my journey of connecting with my bloodline and ancestors… and I’m excited. I’m not InSpired by much these days. Giving thanks for the inspiration.
