Spreading kindness and making connections ๐
Our Sources of Strength (SOS) peer leaders are taking their message beyond the classroom with mini field trips focused on generosity.
Students brought Spring-themed activities to complete with residents at Sunnyside Care Center, but what unfolded was so much more than crafts and decorations. Conversations flowed, laughter filled the room and real connections were made โ residents and students genuinely getting to know one another. It was a beautiful reminder that generosity isn't just about the material things you give, it's about the time and heart you bring. ๐
Sources of Strength is a nationally recognized program that empowers student peer leaders to positively influence school culture. Built around a wheel of strengths โ including family support, positive friends, mentors, healthy activities, generosity and more โ SOS helps young people build resilience and a sense of belonging.
At ESM, our SOS peer leaders don't just learn about these values โ they live them. And this visit to Sunnyside is a perfect example of that. ๐ท
To our SOS peer leaders โ thank you for showing our whole community what strength, kindness and generosity look like in action. We are so proud of you!
