It's Black History Month.

I'm so proud of the Black Physicians that paved the way for me to become the Obstetrician Gynecologist I am today. Every step they took and continue to take, allows me to serve in an amazing way for my community and to be the manifestation of what many thought to be an impossible dream.

I thank you today and forever. 🖤

Only one-third of physicians are women.
And just 2% are Black women.

So yes… I’m proud.
Proud to show up in medicine.
Proud to care with intention.
Proud to blend science, softness, and community in everything I do.

To my fellow women physicians, especially my sister docs, today is for us. 💖
We belong here. We’ve always belonged here.

Chunka: How come you can't eat dairy?

Me: I can eat dairy

Chunka: Why don't you eat your ice cream

Me: Because by the time I get to it... yall have already eaten it

Chunka: Because you wait too long

Me: It be like 2-3 days

Chunka: Yeah...

Me: 😑 Yeah

She tickles my soul. So I saw these cups in Costco yesterday and got them for me and my girl. As soon as she saw them she yelled "Ugh oh!! Not me with a mini Stanley cup". Yall I screamed laughing. Like 1. What do you know about Stanley cups and 2. The "Not me" took me clean out 🤣🤣🤣

She said her teacher has a Stanley cup and she loved it so she's happy to have a cup like her now.

And the color is TEAL and hot pink 🙄. The other one is purple so she told me that one was mine.

Lola: Momma... when you were pregnant with me, did you have a gender reveal?

Me: Huh? No...

Lola: Why?

Me: We didn't want to know.

Lola: What about when I popped out? Did you have a gender reveal?

Me: Ummm I guess. We just announced 🗣IT'S A LOLA!!

Lola: 😒 So you didn't even have a piñata? Balloons? Nothing?

Me: No...we were in the hospital.

Lola: Wow... so no piñata... Well what about Grandma Thomas? Did she do a gender reveal for you?

Me: Umm well...I don't...

Lola: Wait... did they even have ultrasound then?

Me: *in my feelings because I'm pretty sure it was probably newer technology and I'm not even sure if my mom knew what I was* 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Lola: Probably not... and no piñata either.

She's been watching gender reveals on YouTube tonight. Why? I don't know. She also likes shading me about my age. Why? I don't know. 27 ain't THAT old 😒
