New Year’s sweater. I’m a little rusty, but enjoying diving back into brioche knitting. I’m using the multiple scrap balls that I’ve created in the past for this project.
I was just talking with a friend about the mysteries of our lives today. This project makes me think of God as I knit. I know the pattern, but have no idea what it will look like when it’s finished. Each color is a surprise as it comes across my needles. The yarns were randomly added from my leftovers. There’s a level of trust that what is created will be beautiful.
There is a mixture of dark and light, just as there is the same mixture in my life. Some times are darker and challenging and other times are bright and filled with light. I, the creator of this project, am in control of every stitch. God, the Creator of my life, is in control of every moment.
When I’m in the midst of life, I tend to see my life from the wrong side of the fabric. I see the starts and stops with the messy yarn ends. When God turns it over as I look I see the beautiful fabric that He has created in my life.
I’m thankful that I can ponder this with each stitch of this sweater.
