A retrospective case series published in Medical Acupuncture evaluated Soliman Auricular Allergy Treatment (SAAT) in 137 patients with Alpha-Gal Syndrome (AGS), a tick-related allergy to mammalian meat and dairy products. The study found that 121 of 126 patients with follow-up data (96%) reported remission of AGS symptoms after treatment, while no treatment-related adverse effects were reported.

SAAT involves placing an acupuncture needle in a specific ear region associated with the allergen and leaving it in place for three weeks. Although the results suggest that SAAT may be a promising and low-risk treatment for AGS, the authors noted important limitations, including the retrospective design, reliance on patient-reported outcomes, and lack of consistent laboratory confirmation, and recommended further prospective controlled studies to confirm its effectiveness.
