Michael "Mike" Bowser

Michael “Mike” Bowser, age 69, of Eaton, OH passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born October 4, 1956 in Montgomery County to the late Richard “Dick” and Shirley (Reichard) Bowser.

Michael enjoyed trap shooting and riding his motorcycles. He also loved being outside and spending time with his cats.

He is survived by his daughter Tiffany (Ryan) Elliott; sister Linda Bowser; brother John Bowser; two grandchildren, Ava and Grayson Elliott; numerous nieces and nephews, several special friends, and his beloved cats.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton or the Preble County Humane Society. Donna D. Tubesing

Donna D. Tubesing, age 80, of West Alexandria, OH passed away suddenly on Sunday, August 30, 2026. She was born July 17, 1946 in Batesville, IN to the late Stanley and Marcella Fritz.

Donna was a 1964 graduate of Brookville High School in Indiana. She built a long career as a bookkeeper, working for many years with various tax preparation companies before eventually becoming self-employed. She was known for her steady dedication and the care she brought to her work. She found joy in life’s simple and lasting pleasures. Donna loved putting together puzzles and doing word searches, and she especially cherished attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch, fishing, camping, and spending time in Florida. The moments she shared with her family, whether at a game, outdoors, or simply at home, will be remembered with great affection.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her special aunt and uncle Betty and Pete Roberts.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Kenton Tubesing of West Alexandria; daughter Susan Sizemore Shafer of West Alexandria; son Davey Sizemore of West Alexandria; grandchildren Zach Shafer of West Alexandria, Kelsie Shafer of West Alexandria and Brad (Cristina) Shafer of West Alexandria; great grandchildren Kinley and Avery Shafer of West Alexandria; brother Ivan (Pegg) Fritz of Brookville, IN; niece Laura Fritz (Gregg) Taylor of West Harrison, IN; nephew Mark Fritz of Brookville, IN; great niece Lydia Taylor of West Harrison, IN; brother-in laws Robert (Sandy) Tubesing of Erlanger, KY, Charles Tubesing of Chesterland, OH, and Russ Tubesing of Columbus, IN; nephew Travis (Jessica) Tubesing of Dayton, OH; and her beloved cat Fritzi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 9:30 to 11:30 am at Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Funeral service for Donna will follow at 12:00 noon also at the funeral home. A committal service will take place at approximately 2:15 pm at Maple Grove Cemetery in Brookville, IN. Amanda Celesta Whinery, age 70, of Oxford, OH passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at the Greenbriar Nursing Center in Eaton, OH. She was born February 8, 1956 in Salem, OH to the late Eldon and Marjorie (Fultz) Whinery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters JoAnn Whinery and Linda Taylor; and brother Ray (Josephine) Whinery.

She is survived by her wife of 37 years, Kristen L. Jacobson of Oxford; son John Whinery of Oxford; sister Cheryl (Van) Barber of Albuquerque, NM; brother Carl (Marsha) Whinery of Salem, OH; and several nieces and nephews.

Steven Cooper, age 57, of Eaton, OH passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. He was born November 28, 1968 in Dayton, OH.

Steven was a 1987 graduate of Twin Valley High School. He has worked at Parker-Hannifin Corporation in Eaton, OH since he was the age 18. He was an avid football fan and most of all a Dallas Cowboys fan.

He was preceded in death by his father Larry D. Cooper.

He is survived by his wife Heather Cooper; mother Joyce Cooper; brother Mark (Lisa) Cooper; nephews Joshua Cooper and Jacob Cooper; stepdaughters Jasmine Peacock and Kiele (Andrew) Rickard; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 12:00 noon until time of funeral service at 2:00 pm at the Salem Lutheran Church, 70 East Dayton Street, West Alexandria, OH with Pastor Dan Mershon officiating. Claude Grissom, Jr, age 90, of Eaton, OH passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2026. He was born November 20, 1935 in West Frankfort, IL to the late Claude and Agnes (Thomas) Grissom, Sr.

Claude enjoyed country music and loved baseball, his favorite team being the St. Louis Cardinals. He was also an avid fan of old Western movies. He was a devout Christian and attended the Eaton Baptist Temple with his wife, Linda.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons Scott Grissom and Doug Grissom; daughter Laurie Witzke; his brother Earl Grissom; and sisters Helen Evitts and Betty McGregor.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda Grissom; two daughters Deanna Davies and Stacey Rau; stepson David Tanis; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 10:30 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm at the Eaton Baptist Temple, 416 E. Decatur St. Eaton, OH 45320, with Pastor Ryan Blair officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Eaton Baptist Temple. Delores J. Theiss, age 69, of Eaton, OH passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026. She was born September 24, 1956 to the late Norman and Delores (Mikesell) Michael.

Above all, Delores was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; and she absolutely loved her dogs Mila Jean and Penny Grace, they were her babies.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Luther C. Theiss.

She is survived by her husband Luther E. Theiss; children Angel (Kevin) Michael Strange and Wayne A. Theiss; grandsons Johnathan Strange and Christopher Strange; great grandchildren Alyssa Lynn Strange and Landon Strange; brothers Donald Shaffer, Wayne Moore and Curt Waldon; sisters Katie Hines, Debra Michael, Connie Brown and Beth Parsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Teresa Anne Winkler, age 72, of Eaton, OH went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 17, 2026 at Kettering Health Hamilton. She was born July 27, 1954 in Dayton, OH to the late Byron and LaDonna (Hull) Utz.

Teresa was a 1972 graduate of Twin Valley South High School, and she then attended Sinclair Community College to earn her Associate’s Degree in Accounting. After graduating, she worked for Rexarc in West Alexandria as an executive secretary for over 20 years until she retired to become a devoted mother to her daughter, Brenna. She was a faithful member of the Eaton Baptist Temple for 50 years, where she was a member of the Ladies’ Missionary Prayer Band. Her two favorite things to do were attend church and go to breakfast on Monday mornings with her and Jerry’s breakfast group: June and Terry Creech, Ginny Schenck, Rhonda Pennington, Linda and Jim Wick, Dalene and Kent McIntire, and Becky and Curt Brubaker. Crafting was a great passion of hers, and she would attend craft shows in Indiana with her good friend Kathy Johnson. She absolutely adored her daughter and grandchildren, and the time she spent with them was very precious to her. Family meant the world to her, and she treasured her nieces and nephews dearly. Teresa had a sweet spirit and never had a harsh word to say about anyone.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Gary Utz and Mike (Donna) Utz.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jerry Winkler of Eaton; daughter Brenna (Alex) Hughes of Arcanum, OH; grandchildren Victor and Autumn; brother Donald E. Utz of West Alexandria; nieces and nephews Kim (Brett) Hickox, Sean Utz, Kyle (YaVonne) Utz, Jason (Katie) Utz, JJ (Hannah) Utz, Lance (Megan) Turner; great nieces and nephews Savannah Turner, Cole Hickox, Jake Hickox and Luke Utz; special lifelong friend/sister Dalene McIntire; special friends Carol Howard and Jean Campbell; sisters-in-law Gay Utz and Paula (Wags) Wagner; brother-in-law Larry Winkler; and various cousins and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM, also at the funeral home with Pastor Ryan Blair officiating. Daniel Roy Preston, age 55, of Eaton, OH passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at his residence, He was born November 17, 1970 in San Bernardino, CA.

Daniel was an avid fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his father William Maurice Preston.

He is survived by his mother Virginia Harris; wife Goldie Preston; children Amanda Preston, James Preston, Samantha Christco, Jacob Preston and Joshua Preston; five grandchildren; sister Cindy Klinge; brothers Billy Preston, and John Preston; and several nieces and nephews.
