Courtesy has been valued for thousands of years—from the Ancient Egyptian “Maxims of Ptahhotep,” which encouraged kindness and honesty, to Bring Your Manners to Work Day, created by The Protocol School of Washington in 2013.

Modern workplace etiquette extends beyond holding doors and saying “please” and “thank you.” It also means being present during meetings, limiting phone distractions, communicating respectfully, and giving coworkers and clients our full attention. One workplace study found that 64% of surveyed CIOs believed mobile devices were changing workplace rules—up from 51% just three years earlier. 📱

Heads high—it’s Skyscraper Day! 🏙️

The story of the modern skyscraper began with new ideas that changed how cities could grow. In 1870, New York City’s Equitable Life Building helped popularize elevators in tall office buildings. Then, architect William Le Baron Jenney—often called the “Father of the American Skyscraper”—designed Chicago’s Home Insurance Building. Completed in 1885, its innovative steel-frame construction earned it recognition as the world’s first skyscraper.

High-rise design continued reaching new heights, culminating in the 2010 opening of Dubai’s 2,722-foot Burj Khalifa. 🌆
