Manfredi Orthotic & Prosthetic

Manfredi Orthotic & Prosthetic Manfredi O&P is an ABC accredited facility providing custom orthotics and prosthetics, allowing our patients to have a better quality of life.

Manfredi Orthotic and Prosthetics is an ABC accredited facility that opened in 1958. We have been dedicated to the industry over 55 years restoring function and achieving patient independence with our personal care. Here at Manfredi O&P, we believe in the 4 C's of patient care: Compassionate, Caring, Competent, Comfort. Compassionate, caring, competent orthotists and prosthetists who provide a qua

lity orthosis and/or prosthesis to ensure a comfortable fit. Our highly trained technical staff creates custom devices which are fitted and fabricated in our facility. We recognize that each patient is a unique case, requiring specialized protocols and customized technology. It takes remarkable skill, insight, creativity, and compassion to treat every patient individually, responding to his or her physical necessities and emotional differences. The question we get asked most quietly is whether somebody is allowed to change prosthetists.

100% Yes. And switching prosthetic care teams doesn't need to feel like a break-up!

People tell us they felt stuck. A device made out of state, weeks between appointments, a socket that came back wrong and then came back wrong again. At some point you stop bringing it up, because you assume this is simply what it is.

It doesn't need to be something you just accept and live with.

You chose your dentist. You chose your physical therapist. Your prosthetist is somebody you will be seeing for the rest of your life, which makes it the biggest of those choices, not the smallest.

Changing is not a complaint about anyone. It is you taking hold of the next twenty years.

We will tell you when we do not think we are the right fit, and what your other options are. That is the honest way to do it.

Losing a limb is a really good excuse not to exercise. Most programs you have ever been handed were written for bodies with two of everything. The first move is something you cannot do. You quit in the first week, and the voice gets to say it was right all along.

Andy Hundley, DPT, has spent his career working with amputees. Forged Amputee Wellness is what came out of that: short at-home strength, balance and mobility work, built for amputees rather than adapted for them. Chair-based, wheelchair-based, or already active. With or without a prosthesis.

It is not physical therapy and it is not a replacement for it. It is the months after discharge, when the appointments stop.

Exercise was never only about the body. It is how most of us stay level, and after limb loss that matters more rather than less.

Manfredi O&P patients pay nothing for it. Normally twenty-five dollars a month. If somebody you love should see this, send it to them, or call the office and we will talk it through.

A matched pair, built as one.

Bilateral below-knee sockets, hand-laminated in deep cobalt β€” same tone, same lines, left and right β€” so they read as a set, not two separate builds. Titanium pylons, clean hardware, fabricated in-house from cast to finish.

When you walk on two, symmetry isn't cosmetic. It's how the whole day feels.

Two people are recovering. Only one of them gets a care team.

The husband who learned to change a liner. The daughter who reads every insurance letter. The friend who just keeps showing up.

Research puts significant depression or anxiety in about 1 in 3 family caregivers β€” nearly the same rate as amputees themselves. It has a name: caregiver burnout. And almost nobody is asking these families how they're holding up.

So we wrote the guide for them β€” the signs of caregiver burnout, the two well-meaning mistakes families make most, five things to say (and five to stop saying), and how to help without hovering.

This month's Out on a Limb topic is about the caregivers β€” the husbands, wives, parents, adult kids and friends carrying the appointments, the worry, and the 2 a.m. thoughts about what happens next.

And if you're the amputee: this is your chance to hear what your person has been carrying and never said out loud. Most of them are protecting you from it.

Not every socket is built to blend in. 🏁

This custom Transfemoral prosthesis wears its driver's colors β€” full race-car wrap, #09 and all β€” because the people we build for don't stop being themselves at the socket line. Every custom graphic is fabricated in-house, start to finish.

Got a passion that says who you are? Put it on your leg. We'll build it.

Your doctor assigned you a K-level. Do you know what it means for your prosthetic coverage?

Most patients leave their initial evaluation without a clear answer β€” and it costs them.

K-levels are Medicare's classification system for rehabilitation potential. Your level (K0 through K4) directly determines what prosthetic components your insurance will cover and approve.

K2 patients typically qualify for basic prosthetic components
K3 patients may be eligible for microprocessor knees, advanced prosthetic feet, and dynamic response systems
K4 patients have access to the highest-performing technology available

What's less known: K-levels can change as your ability and activity level improve. And if yours was assigned inaccurately, you have real options β€” your prosthetist can request reassessment and provide clinical documentation to support an appeal.

We put together a complete guide on what each level means, how classifications are assigned, and what New Jersey patients can do if they disagree with their assessment.

Read more on the blog β†’ https://manfredioandp.com/news-events-blog/k-levels-prosthetic-classification-new-jersey?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=k-levels-prosthetic-classification

Have questions about your K-level or what your coverage should include? Drop them below or reach out directly. We're here to help you get what you're actually entitled to.

Your K-level determines your prosthetic coverage in New Jersey. Learn what K0–K4 means, how classifications are assigned, and what to do if yours is wrong.
