There is a few key happening every year in June. And every year, I like to highlight them. June is Men's mental health awareness month, aswell as PTSD awareness month, with a highlighted day on June 27th for PTSD awareness day. Also in June there is Women's Veterans Day, observed on June 12. I am an OIF Veteran, and this time of year gets difficult, the changing of the seasons, for me there is many negative anniversaries. Which, through many years of therapy, I have been able to memorialize and celebrate rather than just dwell on the bad. However it still is very tough. In combat attacks were limited in the winter months, and began to ramp up through the spring into the summer to almost every day, and if you weren't attacked, your counter parts were attacked, or a friend from another unit. If you know a Veteran that served in combat, chances are, they just had a rough weekend over Memorial Day. And now were going into PTSD awareness month, and men's mental health month. Check in on your Veteran's, really see how they are doing! Get together for a barbeque, get outdoors, fish, golf, hike, anything.... Exercize is great for physical and mental health. With that being said Happy Women's Veteran's Day! And Happy Father's Day comming up as well!

Memorial Day isn't Veteran's Day, its not just a long weekend, its not a weekend full of sales. Memorial Day is a day we honor fallen service members that didn't make it home from combat. And I personally know alot more soldiers that did make it home from combat, but were still in combat in their mind, and lost the battle here at home. I would like to include them in the Memorial Day celebration aswell. So remember its not about an extra day off work, or mattress sales, or drunk cookouts and lake outings. Yes all of those things are true, and are going to happen. The real reason we are celebrating, is to celebrate the service members that gave the ultimate sacrifice, that gave us the freedoms to be able to do those things!

Think of burnout like an overheated engine. Even the best engines quit if they aren't properly maintained.
For people with PTSD, your "check engine" light has been flashing forever. You just got used to ignoring it.
Recovering from burnout isn’t about getting a quick “tune-up."
You don’t fix burnout by resting for a weekend.
Healing starts when you stop forcing yourself to perform. It’s giving yourself permission to exist with less pressure, less proving, less pretending you’re okay.

What an incredible donation made to One Battle inc. Words cannot express our gratitude, when I went for accupuncture and the owner of Point of Renewal Integrated Health, Dr. Maria asked me if One Battle would like to be the beneficiary of the Patriot Palooza I gladly accepted. As a nonprofit organization, funding is hard to come by, and grants are hard to get. The hours they poured into getting donations, and making sure the donors were recognized for their patriotic efforts, was just as impressive as the day of the benefit and the awesome volunteers that worked the event. Thank you to Point of Renewal, all of the many donors that support the event year in and year out, the event staff, and the moose lodge for hosting the event, From the bottom of our hearts here at 1B we thank you, this donation will go to helping local Veteran's in the surrounding counties, and send guys for adventure therapy in the Boundary Waters of Northern Minnesota.

Today, on Armed Forces Day, we had the privilege of presenting a check for $7,777.00 from our 3rd Annual Patriot Palooza 2026 to Mike Wood of One Battle, Inc. during the Rice Lake Middle School military appreciation program. 🇺🇸

Seeing our community come together to support veterans has been truly incredible. Thank you again to every sponsor, donor, volunteer, business, veteran, and attendee who helped make this possible. Your support is making a real impact right here in our local communities. ❤️

Be sure to follow One Battle, Inc.
and us here at www.facebook.com/patriotpalooza
to stay connected as we continue this mission throughout the year.

And yes… we’ll be back at it again next April! 🎉🇺🇸

PTSD and CPTSD have a lot in common.
But they’re not the same experience.

PTSD is often linked to a specific event.
CPTSD is usually rooted in long-term, repeated trauma.

PTSD may come with memories of a “before.”
CPTSD often means the trauma was part of your foundation.

Both can include:
flashbacks
avoidance
hypervigilance
emotional overwhelm

Different paths.
Real impact.
Both deserve understanding, support, and care.

Today is the the day, the Patriot Palooza is going down! And just as much as it is a fund raiser, it spreads awareness of our nonprofit organization and what we do. The support, help and the donations from the community is nothing short of amazing! We are still very new and funding has been hard to come by, so when Maria at Point of Renewal asked me if we would like to be a beneficiary of the Patriot Palooza while I was getting accupincture I gladly accepted. Veteran's eat free, benefit is 11-4, there will be live music, silent auction, raffles, and the prizes all look amazing. I just had surgery Thursday afternoon but plan on being on site for the whole event! So if anybody has any questions I can answer them!

🚨 Date Change + Big Update! 🚨We’ve officially moved the 3rd Annual Patriot Palooza to Saturday, April 25 (2026) 🎉

We’re really hoping this new date fits better with everyone’s schedules and lets even more people join us! (Cross your fingers for good weather too!)

This year’s beneficiary is One Battle- a veteran-run Wisconsin nonprofit that’s all about making sure no veteran is left behind. They focus on real-life support like mental health + recovery support, peer connection, employment opportunities, and help for veterans working through housing instability and other tough transitions. They also serve veterans right here in Barron County.
Learn more about them here: https://www.onebattle.org/

👀 Keep an eye on this page - we’ll be sharing more event details, ways to help, and all the fun stuff soon!
(And as always… thank you for supporting our veterans. ❤️)
