Did you know that our clinic offers free/low costing HIV testing?

Testing is the only way to know for sure if you have HIV. The CDC recommends everyone between the age of 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once, although people with more opportunities to be exposed to HIV (such as s*x with new partners or sharing needles) can benefit from testing more often. Knowing your HIV status helps you choose options to stay healthy.

Correctly reading IDs is the most effective way to prevent underage to***co and ni****ne sales and ensure compliance with state and local laws. We work with WI Wins to educate retailers on how to correctly read IDs.

WI Wins is a statewide campaign that uses a science-based strategy to decrease youth access to to***co, ni****ne pouches, and v***r products and help retailers avoid fines.

After 14 years of dedicated leadership of the Eau Claire City-County Health Department, Director/Health Officer Lieske Giese is set to retire in late 2026. Since 2012, she has led the department in preventing disease and injury, strengthening community partnerships, guiding health policy, advocating for the health of people who struggle in our community, and more. We couldn’t be more proud and thankful for Lieske’s years of leadership and service to public health in Eau Claire County.

The Health Department has begun the recruitment process for the next Department Director/Health Officer and is currently seeking applications. The role leads a dynamic, innovative, accredited health department that is the largest local health department in western Wisconsin.

The Lake Street Farmers Market is happening TOMORROW, Tuesday, August 4, from 11:30am to 2:30pm at the Eau Claire County Government Center (corner of Lake Street and 2nd Avenue).
Browse a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, flowers, breads, and more. The market is held Tuesdays 11:30am-2:30pm through August 25. Pop-up vendors will vary throughout the season.

Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) look alike! HABs can look like duck w**d, but duck w**d isn't harmful algae.

Duckw**d is a tiny, fast-growing aquatic plant that is nontoxic, whereas harmful algae is a cyanobacteria that can produce toxins that can make people and animals sick if swallowed, inhaled, or have contact with the skin. Always check the water be for going swimming.
