Richard (Ricky) Leon Williams

June 11, 1952 - July 23, 2026

There are some people whose lives leave an imprint so deep that generations will continue to feel their love long after they are gone. Ricky Williams was one of those people. Ricky Williams, 74, of Eclectic, Alabama, entered the presence of his Savior on Thursday, July 23, 2026. He was born June 11, 1952.

The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, with a memorial service to follow at 12:00 PM. Both will be held at Good Hope Baptist Church, 1766 South Fleahop Road, Eclectic, Alabama 36024. A brief graveside service will be held at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

While our hearts are broken beyond words, we rejoice knowing that his faith has become sight. Today he is walking the streets of gold, completely healed, reunited with his beloved parents and brother, and hearing the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

His faith wasn't something he kept to himself-it was the foundation of his life. He loved the Lord with his whole heart and never hesitated to tell others about the hope he had in Christ. We find great comfort in imagining the moment when his eyes opened in eternity, and he saw the face of Jesus.

He loved fiercely and faithfully. He was a devoted husband, a father who never stopped showing up, and a Papa whose grandchildren were the light of his life. There wasn't an event he didn't want to attend, a milestone he didn't celebrate, or a story he didn't proudly tell. He bragged about his family every chance he got, and they always knew they were deeply loved.

To his daughters, he wasn't just a father-he was their hero, protector, and safe place. He was always there. Yet, his heart and kindness reached far beyond his own family. Many people lovingly called him "Dad" or "Papa" because that's simply who he was. He welcomed people in, encouraged them, prayed with them, laughed with them, and loved them like family. If you knew him, you loved him. His life reflected the love of Christ.

His absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his legacy will live on in every life he touched, every lesson he taught, every prayer he prayed, and every act of kindness he quietly gave.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Debbie Williams, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and unwavering devotion; daughters, Kelley (Rod) Wallace, Michelle (Casey) Smith, Tiffani (Shawn) O'Banion; his eight cherished grandchildren, who knew no greater fan than their Papa, Kayson (Cam) Freeman, Cole Smith, Katie Wallace, Chance Smith, Chelsey O'Banion, Carlee Smith, Caitlyn O'Banion, and Teel O'Banion; brother Stevie Williams and sister Linda (James) Hall. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Bobbie Williams, and brother, Mickey Wayne Williams.

Ricky graduated from Elmore County High School and went to work for Alabama Power Company, retiring after 35 years of service. Ricky was a faithful member of Good Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, taking care of his countless farm animals, and spending time with his family every chance he got.

Though we grieve deeply, we do not grieve without hope. Because of Jesus Christ, we know this goodbye is not forever. One glorious day, faith will become sight for us as well, and we will be reunited with the man who pointed us to Christ by the way he lived every single day.

Until then, we will honor him by loving God, loving people, and living the kind of life he modeled so well.

"Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man." - Proverbs 3:3-4

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the General Fund at Good Hope Baptist Church in memory of Ricky. Donations Link: https://www.goodhopebc.org/giving
