Today campers enjoyed an animal-themed day filled with opportunities to practice their individual speech and language goals! Campers spent time with therapy dog Luka! They participated in a Seek-a-Boo hunt in the gym, searching for hidden animal pictures and interacting with peers as they discovered each animal and practiced target words. For our craft, campers created their own beaded animals while practicing sharing materials, following directions, and communicating with their peers

Today is Ellie’s last day as our office assistant. She is starting a new chapter on her journey to become a speech therapist! Ellie is beginning graduate school at Mankato, studying speech-language pathology. Ellie has been a valued team member at USOT since 2024. We will miss you dearly! 🫶

Today Apraxia Adventure Campers spent time practicing their individual speech and language goals! Campers participated in reading A Little SPOT: My First Emotions. They created their own craft by choosing an emotion that they learned about and added facial features to match. Campers then shared and described their creations with peers. Next, they got to enjoy playing Candy Land with friends. This provided opportunities to practice turn-taking and their individualized speech and language targets during play. In the gym, children participated in Hullabaloo, where they followed directions, identified pictures, and interacted with peers while continuing to work on their personal communication goals in a fun and engaging way!
