Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally through earthday.org including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. Earth day only comes once year and we all should know what it is and why we should help our earth together and to celebrate it too.

What is Celiac Disease? Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder where the body's immune system reacts abnormally to gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye, and barley. Being and having Celiac disease doesn’t define who I am it just means that I have to be more sensitive and conscious about it though.
When did you first get diagnosed? I was diagnosed when I was five years old so early on in my life.
How does it impact you? It impacts me because I have to be more conscious and more sensitive about it and it’s something that I can’t change about myself it kind of stays with me for the rest of my life.
What sort of diet do you follow? I have to follow a strict gluten free diet for the rest of my life
What would you like people to know about living with Celiac Disease? I know it’s a lifelong thing that you have to live with but it’s important to know about it and being aware of it is one thing but to recognize it though.
What are some organizations or social media accounts that people can follow for more information and awareness of celiac disease? For celiac disease information and awareness, consider following organizations like the Celiac Disease Foundation (celiac.org), Beyond Celiac (beyondceliac.org), and the National Celiac Association (nationalceliac.org), as well as their social media accounts.

💙💛💙💛
Down syndrome awareness symbols and what they mean: For World Down Syndrome Day, observed on March 21st, you may see different symbols being used to celebrate.
🧦 Mismatched and colorful socks are used to represent the extra copy of the 21st chromosome that causes Down syndrome, while promoting diversity and inclusion and people with Down syndrome
✋ 💙 💛 Hand with a heart is used to represent the single palmar crease that is sometimes seen with individuals who have Down syndrome and the heart represents the many individuals with Down syndrome who are born with heart defects.
↟ The three arrows pointing up known as a symbol for the "Lucky Few" represents the 3 copies of the 21st chromosome and the ability to rise up and move forward.

Everyone is all unique. People with Down syndrome may have a single palmar crease and or heart defects but they are still no different than anyone else in the world. That's just my opinion though. -- Amelie W.
