Watch how your child grabs their backpack tomorrow morning. One shoulder, same side, every day? That's not laziness. That's the pattern their body has already settled into.
A backpack worn unevenly shifts weight onto one side of the spine, and it doesn't take long for that to feel normal. The spine adjusts to whatever it's asked to carry, and the nervous system running through it works harder to compensate for the imbalance.
None of this means something's wrong. It's just worth noticing early, before it becomes the way a body defaults to carrying weight for years.
A few small things help: both straps, weight sitting close to the body, and switching shoulders if a single-strap bag is unavoidable.
If you're curious what your child's own patterns look like, we're happy to take a look. π
